Modric For Torres Swap

Good morning.

I like Danny Kelly. I think the watershed moment that turned my head was THIS. And this morning he demonstrated his unerring ability to do his job well rather than just regurgitate all the usual…

Would you swap Torres for Modders?

The addition of Adebayor I am convinced will ultimately proved to be an inspired move. Is he the world’s greatest striker? Well perhaps not as we speak. But he’s a player that evidently thrives on being given a new lease of life. Imagine a scenario were another household name were to join him.

Torres against the immediate and perhaps somewhat harrowing backdrop of his Liverpool form had a good spell one season and then went right off the boil. His £50M price tag requires not a pinch of salt but the complete suspension of ones disbelief. The figure reflected the buyers ambition, not the market value of the product.

Modric we know and indeed must accept is – barring an act of God – or a treble winning season, not stopping long. And so of all the guff that the transfer rumour mongers generate, this concoction might not have legs, but it’s difficult to deny it has a pretty face.

I know some reading this will be unthinkingly dismissive. Buy I tell you this. If you want to predict the future just think up that which is seemingly crazy today. Garages selling ice cold beers, Adebayor and Gallas in Tottenham shirts…

Huzzah we can score goals and take some points, clean sheet too not a lot to complain about we saw off the feisty mick lads with their new stand coming along which will make them 36,000 apparently,we need to get a shift on with the stadium,

i thought we’d played well on the whole, keeping the ball when we needed too,the krank instrumental in both goals,a one two with the swordsman, hoping he can gel with adebayor who showed his use in just holding up the ball and a presence, how long it will last nobody knows

parker, modric and the defence were in a battle and it wasn’t all good but we came through it and after our manc batterings we aren’t really together yet, onwards to greece

Finn: Editors and publishers are delighted to get so many clicks or readership numbers by just tweaking our noses and leading us wherever they want us to go.

You speak for yourself Finn. I don’t need some two bob scribbler to form my opinion.

Rent-a-gob is clearly a charlatan who got lucky, and it’s pretty obvious that all is not well between him and Levy.

Well I do try to speak for myself, but I can’t help but observe that the resistance of others in letting hacks speak for them, or frame their views by being inflammatory and then sitting back and watching them react, is pretty commonplace.

My point is that in doing so we allow hack reporters to frame the questions, then fan the flames then add fuel which is readily consumed until the shit finally hits the fan (forgive the mixed metaphor), or in this case the fans.

If there is a crack in the relations of Levy and Harry do we want to make the decisions of whether we want to open that crack wider or do we allow the media to do it for us? Who do we see runnng the club, the management with some reference to the supporters or the management, under pressure by supporters driven and fired up by the media to create the stories they need to report to keep earning a quid by a predatory media?

Whatever your views of HR, they should be your own, not the regurgitated crap designed to elicit a response for the benefit of people not only wholey uninterested in the welfare of THFC, but actively invested in its discomfort.
