Good evening.

Yet more feel good footage. But why ought we be either hesitant or reluctant to indulge in this wondrous stuff, eh?

This was in fact posted on the last blog which was itself a tribute to Glenda H. And so a genuine debt of gratitude to the really and quite rightly highly esteemed HH reader, skankehmonkeh for sharing these films that have had – it must be sadly said – quite limited airings.

What a treat. On behalf of all of us, thank you.

Thanks Harry. Many memories of those matches in the ’60’s and like many here ended welling up at the end seeing Arthur Rowe expressing how we all feel. Rows about managers , players , tactics put firmly to one side. How you begin to explain these feelings to yourself , let alone the wife, beats me.
Remember seeing this when it was first broadcast and so pleased to see my favorite goal of all time. The one by Jimmy Greaves against Newcastle where he ran from the half way line beat Bobby Moncur and the goalie and rolls the ball into the net.
Saw it again when I got home on Match of the Day made my mates and Mum and Dad watch it as well.

And now still feel the same about Spurs sometimes beats me why, but there it is. Must be a gene in the DNA with hotspur written through like a stick of rock.

      Barber,
Any old ragamuffin can pick your manures, liverpools and goons. I like to think that we were born with exceedingly good taste. ;-)

    ‘Nice’

Arthur Rowe’s summing up is perfect. The next time some overpaid tosspot kisses the badge of whoever is paying his 200k this week, force him to watch this, and hang his head in shame. I think true fans of any team can relate to something like this, from Barca to Barnet. Football before Tevez – so beautiful.

Great stuff Harry, thanks very much to you and Skankehmonkeh for this. Life affirming.
