Just One In, One Out In January…

Good afternoon.

And here’s today’s thought for you. Graham Roberts was on talkSPORT today and named A&E as his weakest link in the current Tottingham team sheet.

The sanity of identifying Benny Sue as our weak link evades me. He’s called A&E for a reason of course – whilst on a run of assured performances there is always a vague underlying threat of a trip to casualty – but he’s been great of late. I also believe he’s added hugely to the positive vibe that’s about the club right now.

So if you were Arry; what move would make in January? The January window is ordinarily a relatively sober affair.

Tell me about your singular swap!

No WAY is Ekotto the weakest link. He is the ONLY player in our lineup with ZERO competition. We cannot buy competition for him, because Ekotto has been so consistent in the last couple of seasons. I would say that Kyle Walker is weaker – because he is still on the ascendancy, and has the potential to be awesome. Walker hasn’t even played a full season of Premier League quality football – his lack of experience makes him the weakest link. He misjudged that pass to Eagles pretty badly and he got away with it – just. King is a weak link – because of his injury issues. Defoe is a massive weak link. Vdv has his weakness of needing to be substituted every game. Bale’s weakness is his one-footedness. Adebayor’s finishing is looking like a weakness. Friedel & Parker’s age is a weakness. Modric’s ambition being ahead of ours is a weakness. Lennon’s pace causes the opposition to double team him and makes him take them on less. b Kaboul still has the odd dodgy game (but much less than before) and needs King beside him. Why do people ignore sooooo much just to dig at one player (whose value to the team will only be seen when injured or sold)

You forgot his hair for me is number one attribute. That is the biggest nit picking i have ever heard from a Cockerel ever, thank God we are third and playing in attack superb in Defence is where we look a working progress Walker still evolving but exciting Kaboul another season from Kingesque King best one legged defender in the World Ekotto one laps away from the finished article. The states say our attack wins games Defoe Bale Lennon Ady Van attackers Defender Walker one goal the weakest links are Friedel Walker King Kaboul Ekotto if we tell the truth.

How many games has Roberts watched this season ? Can`t be seeing the same ones i`m watching, “Benny the Ball” our weakest link some people talk utter crap just for lineage, nuff said.
One out-one in that makes it difficult, Russian out and Llorente in PLEASE SANTA and i will be good all year.

    • jim says:

Hes a fabulous player. Cant see us matching asking price though. Unless indeed Santa sprinkles a little Christmas cheer over Levy’s extremely furrowed, bald business head. :daumen:

      • Razspur says:

If we really have the ambition to be the best we must buy Llorente on 1st Jan just as we should have bought him last Jan but p*ssed around and paid the price. One mistake was a travesty, to do it again would be inexcusable.

        • jim says:

Whats the current price? last i heard they were talking upwards of 25m. He would definitely be a immediate hit. His first touch is magic.

        • jim says:

Would also take some of the pressure off keeping Ade.

        • Razspur says:

Ade will not be with us next season, his wage bill is way too high, people mention Drogba same scenario, why break a wage structure for them when better is available within our budget with a longer term future.

There is a few players i really think we need to sell that are not good enough and that will not be happy at not playing, but I dont think are good enough to be rotaed week in week out.

gomes – replace with hot prospect young keeper with potential.

bassong – he’s not as good as our other centrebacks – replace with ‘Vertonghen'(belgian int’l and captain of ajax)

khumalo – not really done much, been injured, sell for 3m replace with one of the barcelona starlets we have been linked with ‘planas’, ‘montoya’ or ‘bartra’

corluka – always been a bit suspect in my opinion, not content to be walker backup. replace with ‘pereira’ portuguese int’l full back but versatile and can play on wing in midfield, perfect for rotation but good enough to start also.

jenas – sell to villa for 5m – replace with ‘bojan valero’ (equal to Xavi in assists in la liga last season, pass master – would be gr8 signing for 10m!)

bentley 3m – sign Falque on a perm for 3m (shown some nice touches and wing play, one for the future)

kranjcar 8m – deserves to play week in week out, buy ‘marko marin’ tricky german int’l class act – comparisons with modric, would fit in perfectly 12-15m

pienaar 6m – im sorry but i really have not seen anything to remotely impress me about him, he constantly tries things he cant do and gives away posession – frustrating, put the funds towards adebeyors permenant switch 10m. (also give him a signing on fee to keep him within our salary range

Pavlyuchenko 8-10m – needs to go, has a great shot but that’s it, he needs to move to get in russia squad, would prob have takers in premiership, but sell and get some real class in, 1 of these 3 please ‘Leandro Damaio’ ‘Seydou Doumbia’ or ‘Moussa Sow’.

    Squad done : )
I believe a good finish and CL qualification will enable us to sign all the above transfer targets.

Next time you and Dave split up

You should apply for Director Of Football

    • kojac says:

can’t argue with most of that, european players might want to go if they can play in the euros like charlie and pav

don’t think peanut wil be off yet and i’d keep the krank, still a way to go and he is useful of course he may want to go aswell

    • whitefoot says:

Agree with the ‘outs’, although think we’d be pretty lucky to get £25-30 million for them all.

Can’t wait until we get rid of Bassong, a constant accident waiting to happen.

  • Harry Redknapp says:

    Roberts is right

When I tell Benny to lump it, I don’t mean to the opposition

  • abe says:

Strong defence please. I kinda like the look of this Vertonghen guy. Some pace on the wings should Lennon or Bale get injured. Maybe Hoilett. If a really good striker is available, get him as we are unsure of Adebayour. BTW Interesting that Harry last week said he liked Anelka, then the news that Anelka has been granted his request and already knows where he is going…
