The 10 O’Clocker: Levy Wants Pato, Deschamps To Replace Arry & The Ray Wilkins Drinking Game

Good evening hep cats.

The old ITK game eh? Not the oldest profession in the world but there are stark similarities between all the parties involved in both.

The Journalist came out with a string of stuff in the last window that didn’t quite pan out. Sadly this has been grasped as an opportunity to throw him to floor and strike him soundly (in virtual bully boy but no actually fisticuffs type of way).

There isn’t an ITK in the Tottinghamsphere with a one hundred percent track record, not one. You can’t be a bit ITK. That’s like being a bit of  a genius. A bit pregnant. So when it comes to ‘information’ you take it in good faith or you ignore it. Exercise self control, don’t blame others for your own failings and ignore it.

To the goss then. Daniel Levy is going all out to sign Pato. It is Daniel Levy’s personal goal to get him. Blimey. I like ITK like this. No song lyrics, no ‘my first is in ‘November’ but not in ‘tracheotomy’ cobblers. Or, ‘Blue & green should never be seen’.

Would Pato leave Italy? My answer to that would be a resounding, ‘Dunno has anyone asked him this week?’ Second question is of course money. And this is a point perhaps worth dwelling upon. Levy has witnessed a season that is doing a good impression of not only a greatness but consistency.

Champions League money is the sweetest money of them all. And to fund it’s return is the canniest investment the director of  a football club can make. Pav, and Defoe have obviously failed to blaze a trail this season or the one before it. Yet the Lilywhite machine appears new and improved.

Complacency isn’t in Levy & Co’s modus operandi so don’t discount the idea of the THFC Board going all in on a Top Top Player ©.  Remember, intelligent folk not only learn from their mistakes but more importantly have a willingness to learn.

I can imagine that Levy & Co had to be ‘sold’ the idea of Adebayor. Let’s face it, he’s naffin’ expensive. However, the impact of Adebayor (okay, he hasn’t actually scored for a bit, but do bare with me) will not have gone unnoticed.  Not at all. I predict Levy & Co offering an ‘enhanced’ salary deal to someone very soon. That said, if he knock more in, it could well be Manu himself.

The Didier Deschamps thing is interesting. The suggestion is that he is being lined up to replace Arry. This would have fitted Levy & Co’s profiling system before the whole Juande Ramos business. But a combination of Arry’s success and Capello’s slow PR suicide, I’d struggle to see him getting the nod over a more ‘British’ manager.

Interesting background quote from PSG Coach Carlo Ancelotti talking to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Pato? That’s a strange story – we don’t know. We’ll see. For January that one’s no longer a topic. In June..

I was offered unexpected players, players who have just signed spectacular contracts. In January.

Everybody wants to be here, there is money, there’s a coach with a good reputation.

Names that have been offered by agents in addition to Tevez have been Fernando Torres, Dimitar Berbatov, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Edinson Cavani and Fernando Llorente.”

That is, assuming he can be bothered to learn the bloody language, unlike hapless Juande.

Well, Papiss Cisse’s gone to Newcastle. Sincerely hope we already looked at him but decided he wasn’t good enough, else we’re looking at another one that’s gotten away. Same with Sow, who looks increasingly likely to sign for the ‘Pool, what with Lille signing Nolan Roux from Brest…

After Mario Gomes he has the best scoring record in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons. He always looked a threat strong, quick, physical surely at less than 10 million we must have looked at him oh another thing he has been offside 46 times this season he would have fitted in perfectly at Spurs.

Trouble is it’s the Mail and the Mail does not seem to worry whether a story is based on anything like facts

  • Gin(c)ola says:

‘Dunno has anyone asked him this week?’

Maybe not but I asked him on January 4 in Dubai and he said he would be happy to stay at Milan “for life”. Allegri also said Pato would “definitely” be there until the summer “at least”.

Read into that what you will, but sadly I think this rumour has less legs than a paraplegic.

It’s the Douglas Badar of rumours 8O

Sometimes you are too subtle for the under 50s

I’ve just realised I’ve used, ‘hep cats’ and ‘Douglas Badar’ in the same blog.

Last night I fell asleep listening to Dad’s Army: the one where Godfrey is revealed as a conscientious objector and a man of genuine steel.

I never cease to be amazed how Mde de Hotspur not only word perfectly remembers the scripts to those shows as well as doing all the voices.

          Que?

That jibe could have dual connotations a.It has no legs or b. It has legs but they’re false

        • Spurstacus says:

Or… In the case of Kenneth More playing Douglas Bader it could be a rumour with legs pretending to have false legs masking the fact that it has no legs.
Or… a rumour that has no legs but keeps battling on regardless, refusing to accept that it has no legs because it is determined to play its part and do its duty.

        • essexian76 says:

Is that the first or second leg of your point, if indeed legs have point in which case something’s afoot Watson

Firstly, I would say there is a chance, as he almost moved to PSG last week, only for Pato to change his mind @ the last minute.
You cant tell me he wasnt offered enough money, as PSG are the french Man.C.
So maybe there is another team in for him….
      Just Saying.

Also, I mentioned weeks ago that King has been in Levy’s pool for weeks just waiting for the weekend game. But I have to say…… IF Sandro is fit enough on Sunday, thats a massive bonus with him & Parker in the middle. Just hope he’s fitter than Parker was against Wolves.
Im sure parker will be on top form on Sunday after the blow out on Sat.

He didn’t go because his girlfriend is the Daughter of Silvio Berlusconi, he is going nowhere.

        • kwakspur says:

So why did the deal get so far down the line. I really dont think he is that shallow.
He has also won so many titles & champions leagues with anchelotti.
I’d say its strength of league or another club…. But we will see.

Sorry mate, but you just let everyone on here know that your pussy whipped.
          Just sayin

        • Acton_Yid says:

theres talk in the Italian press that she might be pregnant with Pato’s child. Besides, as much as I love Spurs like the next Yid, i do have a VERY large soft spot for AC and i can tell you Pato is considered VERY overrated in Milan for the sort of wages he picks up…
