Hello.

A number of Spurs fans have been reported to be, ‘devastated, but stable’  this morning after discovering that Eden Hazard won’t be a Tottenham player in time for Sunday’s game against  Stevenage.

“Of course. It’s always more fun when it’s beautiful [the football]. In addition, at Arsenal, there is a coach and French players. And Thomas Vermaelen,”

Hazard confessed to Sport Foot Magazine.

“There are several clubs that interest me in England and Arsenal is really a part. That’s the championship where I think I can express myself better. Where I can learn more, too…”

Arsenal and indeed Chelsea were relentlessly linked with this Adel Taarabt 2.1 for the bulk of last year. Chelsea saying that they had scouted him 20 times. 20 times! What were they waiting for, balloon animals, close up magic or his famous ‘Vera Lynn’ impression?

No, I think Chelsea’s sluggishness was to do with Mata being a superior bet and the lurking specter of the Financial Fair Play regs.

With Arsenal the problem is twofold of course. Aunty Wenger doesn’t like spending Christmas so how quite how he’s going to be coerced into dropping €30m is anyone’s guess.

If this is anything to those of you joining us grown ups late in the game, it’s a gentle introduction to the world of light whoring  that is modern football.

If he’sthat good, and that interested in coming to England – why is he still playing in France? Some raw talent no doubt – the fact that he’s talking himself up to play for the biggest in Europe suggests they’ve all had a look and thought “no thanks- not at 30m.”
Anyone else remember the £6m we paid for Postiga- hailed by Gorman as ” a new Mark Hughes”. Reality was he couldn’t stand the pace/physical pressure of the Prem. Looking at Hazard suggests he has a nice touch – not sure it means he has the guile/speed to adapt to the Prem. I’d hope we save the money and go for proven worth!

It should be less about how confident you are with these hyped up players, and more about how confident you are with your clubs scouts and training staff.
Truth be told, if they’re linked with us, they’ll be playing for anyone but us.
But apparently, if we spend big on some dude we know very little about, that’s a statement of intent.
I’m dreading Redknapp taking the England job. One of his biggest attributes is his no-nonsense “never heard of him” approach to these players who are supposed to be the next big thing. The vast majority of his signings are simple straight forward square pegs in square holes that largely turn out to be a masterstroke (albeit in hindsight) and has done nothing but solidify our status and financial longevity.
We can argue the fact that Harry inherited the bulk of this talented squad admittedly.
But these last few transfer windows for us, although frustrating, have probably been the most fruitful, with the exception of Newcastles capture of Ba.
Coupled with player growth and development and the removal of deadwood before it stagnates, it’s a no-brainer.
    Hazard? “never heard of him”

I believe we were the only ones to stick our neck out and say HR aint going. And I think we were right bud! :shocked2:

Well, I think he’ll take England over for the Euro’s, which leaves us with a manager and England with time to get a new bloke in. Makes sense for all parties and doesn’t interfere with our longer term plans. I think a certain person should take shares out in Mr Kipling’s, then let’s all buy some of his exceedingly good cake’s, after all what’s the point of buying cakes if you can’t eat them?

Tell me more cause I don’t know much about him.

Watched him in action last night, good player off and on the ball.Proper footballer, who breaks it up and can move up field without resorting to lumping it.Very assured in an average side.
