Sandro’s Bruce Lee Video Special

This is more like it.

I was lamenting the absence of fruit cakes in the modern game. Balotelli doesn’t count as violence serves only to take us into the arena of the unhappy and the unwell.

By fruit cake I mean good old fashioned loopyness where nobody gets hurt, the protagonist suspends his or her own embarrassment and reminds all of us acting ‘normally’ just how boring we’ve become.

This then from the bowels of the social media thing what is called Twitter.

Enjoy.

Am a bit worried about Monday. No Lennon , no Defoe, no DVD sorry VDV. I would go for a MF of Parker , Sandro, Bale, Livermore and Modric. But let Bale push up with Ade. Its the only option with the players we have available. Then the Poo will have Suarass back for his 1st game in front of the kop, Gerrard also back in full flight. If we had Defoe and Lennon plus King we would win. I have no doubt but as it stands its going to be tricky. Plus Arry bombing it up the M1 straight after getting another cross examination will make it another difficult night.

Bale needs to keep wide. I say try 4 at the back (fullbacks pick themselves, and of our CB’s, pick the best of whichever ones happen to be able to stand up from their hospital guerney unaided on Monday morning), Modders, PNB and Jackie Chan in the middle with Bale and Krankie swapping sides around Manu. 4-3-3 (effectively 4-5-1 when defending).

Chances of Redknapp picking this lineup: 0,000000001%
Chances of Modders being played out of position with Krankie on the bench: bankers

Agree with your line-up, although would be a little concerened with Bellamy Vs Krankie. The no-necked troll-boy is on fire and would leave him for dead. Best get Sandro to chop him in half.

The idea in a 4-3-3 (the kind I’m thinking of here at least) is that the wings push up to keep their fullbacks from getting forward. Covering the opposite wingers is obviously mainly our fullbaks’ job, but the outside CM’s need to roll out to help cover the ball side as well. Bellend’amy is quick, but not quicker than Texas Ranger with JC covering space.

As for Modders, he pulls the strings in between the other two, and doesn’t bomb forward too much, but lays balls through to the forward 3 on the break. The CM’s only really commit forward when we have the ball and have moved the opposition team back up the pitch, so we can switch it looking for openings against a set defence.

Is how I see it, anyway.

Jackie Chan!, I think that may stick somehow ;-)

I like your thinking, LL – Sandro & Parker will take care of Bellamy, don’t you worry about that…

        …and that nasty f*cker Adam…

We’ll give ’em plenty to think about with our fullbacks bombing on…

I love the idea of Sandro and Parker in the CM. The problem usually is what to do with Modders. However with the staff available it makes sense to me to give Modders VDVs role, in the hole behind Ade. This line up also causes less disruption to our play. It would be good to see if Modders can cause more damage higher up the pitch.
I dont see that going to the pooh should hold any fears for us. We are better as a team, and have better individual players.

        • Spurstacus says:

Modders is clearly not a goal scorer, however if is playing in and around the opposition box instead of the half way line he might become one. With VDV and Lennon out it’s worth a try. I think.
The problem is, is that if you play Bale ‘in the hole’, (and Sandro and PNB CM), you have to accommodate Modders on the left where is ineffective. we know Blae can play there very well. It makes sense to me to have Bale on the left and Modders in the hole. I’d like to see it.

        • TMWNN says:

I’ve often felt that Modric should be played further forward, but who’ll score the goals?

Now to the very serious business of a rock consert and night out.

Catch you on the flipside

      who did you see

      • LosLorenzo says:

These blokes. The guy with the mic in the photo is a good mate of mine (been working at my office for 3-4 years now). Quality Norwegian rock. Not normally my style, but these guys do it as well as anyone, and even better live.

Great show. Didn’t get home ’til 5:30am. Have to head out to social engagement in about 15 minutes. Still very much not totally sober. Oh woe is me

Just looking at the latest from the trial. I think the jury will go out on Tuesday, and one way or another, we can expect it to be over by Wednesday at the latest.

On that basis that bookies do usually know what they are doing, it’s looking good for HR. He is currently 10/1 against with bet 365.

    • SpurredoninDublin says:

Sorry: Should have added 10/1 against being the next manager to lose his job.

      • MysteriousStranger says:

Much as I’d love to discuss the case and the merits or otherwise behind the price and the firm in question SpurredOn, I’m afraid I can’t. See, it’s the law.
