Micky Hazard has passed comment on Twitter that one of the greatest men to have ever played for Tottenham Hotspur is really rather ill.
For some time now, Dave has been battling against Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Micky is passing on all messages so perhaps by the close of play tonight I can send Micky the URL to this blog as a collection of best wishes to Dave Mackay and those caring for him.
Dave,I only wish we had you in the team today with your true grit,courage and fair play. You are still an inspiration to all we Spurs supporters, particularly those of us who watched you play. I wish you strength and determination to help you get over your illness, although I know that you can do it without me. All the best and hope to see you back at The Lane very soon.

I can well remember taking my late father in law to see Spurs v Fulham. He loved watching Spurs play but he was a true Fulham fan.He always joked that it was unfair that Spurs had 12 in the side, he truly believed that Dave Mackay was so good he was worth 2 of any of his Fulham team.
The wonderful Ron Burgess was the best player Spurs will ever have, but our Dave pushes him mighty close.You are a GIANT of the Spurs family and we are all thinking of you.
Dave was almost my favourite player of all Time.AllTime!
His grit,determination,power was the perfect complement for Danny and no less important. Dave was always a clean player that always went for the ball and most of the time got it.
