On an upbeat note Kyle Walker has been announced as the winner of The PFA Young Player Of The Year Award.
He beat Bale, Welbeck, Sturridge, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aguero.
I’ve been critical of Walker. I’m an old fashioned boy and have these crazy thoughts flash through my head when I hear a guy is a defender, I expect that to be his specialist area.
Yes he has pace. But it you went to see your GP with a sore throat and he gave you a prescription for verruca ointment you wouldn’t immediately think, ‘Okay, but I bet he has a mean 200m PB.’
I note in some negative comments left on Goal.com over this. The churlish suggestion being that he only won because he was very young (I know, you couldn’t make it up) and because he was English. The glaring truth of course is that he won because he’s been selected to play a lot for a high flying side that’s played some excellent football for most of the season.
Let’s hope that Kyle stays focused on improving as a defender.

This piece is not about ‘Arry, it’s about Walker winning a trophy (at least someone in a Spurs shirt has!!)
HH, you may as well write one more blog entitled ‘Harry is a CNUT’ and do not write anymore until he leaves as every blog at the moment is having the same comments repeated after it so you may as well not bother and free up more of your time for a spot of fly fishing or something else useful!

I hear you Phil, hence the fact I deliberately chose the PFA award rather than raking through Arry’s post match video which is HERE which would have provided yet more ammo.
People won’t stop being angry until either we win, or at least play something resembling a sane formation. Or a new manager is appointed…

I didn’t say that I didn’t like the criticism of Redders, to be honest he is not exactly my favourite person at present! I just meant that every article on this blog seems to have the same comments underneath and it’s gets a little boring after a while.

Well done to Kyle Walker. He is still young and full of energy with a great career ahead of him. He’s learning the trade and fingers crossed with a top class Manager/coach shortly coming in he can excel next season. Its not been easy for him playing RB, RW and CB all at the same time.
