The 10 O’Clocker: Tim Sherwood

Good evening.

I’m losing the will to live here. The longer I support Spurs the longer the idea of a living will appeals. The idea of losing the susceptibility to hope and having something up my sleeve so when at my most vulnerable, I was still making lucid decisions.

This just in and maybe I’m overreacting by telling you I believe it to be grim news.

  • The Arry to England saga is a murky pit of negotiations with the FA acting like it’s inevitable… a foregone conclusion.
  • The player revolt reported wasn’t so much of  a mutiny rather a group of people looking for direction after discovering their ‘boss’ wanted out.
  • Agents of certain players (I am not told who but it’s hardly rocket science) are basking in this uncertainty and we, the fans are surely in for a horrible summer of threats and allegations.
  • Forget all the Moyes, Rodgers chitter chatter… Tim Sherwood is the Spurs manager in waiting.

If we are talking ex players and someone doing ” A Pep “. Step forward Ledley King. Has the total respect of the players ( except on his birthday night out in Faces ). Plus now he can drink as much as he likes and as long as we winning everbody is happy.

‘Arry now saying he wants Bayern to win champions league…..the teflon fantastic manager swapping sides yet again…….

Spurlative, you’re quite right; it’s easy to pooh-pooh any suggestions, but as Finn says, handing the reigns of THFC to a bloke who looks like he knocks on doors looking to tarmac drives would be akin to handing Harrods to the bloke who owns your local corner-shop..

Hang on a minute, you could be on to something.

    • Finn says:

No issue with Sherwood doing the last four games (or at least last 3) as a caretaker… let’s see how he does. I suspect any change would be positive and we could still qualify if the coins come down around us all as heads; ie the Geordies lose some points and the Chavs get beat in CL final.

But Sherwood as an appointment is too big a risk. We need a solid manager to do what needs to be done to rebuild, for rebuilding will be needed very soon. We need someone who can walk in and orchestrate the exit of Ledders, Gallas, Bentley, J***s, Saha, Nelsen and one or two more perhaps, whilst saying, ” Mr. Levy I need these four or five players, please do what you need to do to get them”. A bloke who’s not afraid to back his own judgement by sticking his cock on the block.

All good points. Who is this manager going to be?
Mourinho could come in and tank like Ramos or Santini did. Levy could get Martinez and we win our first ten games then lose to Reading and all of a sudden he’s the most hated man at Tottenham. Then we’ll all say he should of got someone else.
Either way you look at it, we should be getting someone in who is Tottenham. Who can lose a couple of games in the beginning and no one has a fit about it. Its all about the long term goal.

However, Football has indeed become about instant success and i would hazard to suggest that ‘Whinger’ and Fergie are the last of the long termers. Moyes is another who’s been there for a good period as well and you will always associate him with Everton because of it.

Im just scared of that situation where it looks shiny on the outside but after a few bad games its back to the darkness.

Yeah, because what he looks like really matters of course, well, if you’ve got the mental age and capabilities of a ten year old girl guide, then name calling is about the your mark-‘He looked guilty’ springs to mind!

  • Paul Manning says:

Kevin Bond will go with Harry. the story on the South Coast is that Bond does next to nothing but always picks up £250,000 a year with Harry because he knows all Harry’s dirty washing going back over the last 10 years.

  • Big Chud says:

Twitcher, Bond and Jordan all need to go. They are all as bad as one another, and have proved it at every club they have turned up at as “the holy trinity”.

I personally have nothing against both Sherwood and Ferdinand, despite being employed as coaches by Twitcher, so don’t mind them staying on. The one who I do think has at least shown an opinion, heart and shows he gives a damn is Sherwood. Happy with that sort of commitment.

In addition, Clive Allen should also stay. He has been here since the Jol era, and is Spurs through and through.

In short. Just fuck off Twitcher, Bond and Jordan. Fuck off now.
