The Man’s Clearly A Fool…

Hello.

I used to work in the rag trade about 100 years ago. We used to get these occasional calls from Gerry. The head honcho. Le Grande Fromage.  ‘You know Harry, it gives me no pleasure to make these calls.’

You know the drill…  your heart sank as you knew he had taken seriously some idiot so empowered by their own sense of self importance that they had punctured the cognisance of a man who was simply, probably – naively-  trying to do the right thing.

That’s how I’ve felt for some time now. I’m Gerry making one of those calls. The difference being that this call isn’t representing a complaint from some random mardy arse. I’ve watched the same games as have you. I know that the complaint is valid. And that something urgently needs to be done.

Jol was lovable but a bit naive. This guy Arry is an unlovable tactical car crash on roller skates.

Or are you down wid a Norwich win at The Lane, bruv…

Our  squad is essentially fab, I genuinely believe that. It simply needs the right guidance. Or managing, as we called it in the old money  :daumen:

Ooh my days…

This is an unbelievable article.. As a spurs fan I feel a sense of shame and downright dirtiness at having seen some of the replies to this piece. Harry Hotspur, you are a clown, you used to have interesting, funny and sensible articles a few years ago but your level of moral upstanding seems to have dropped, along with your literacy. I don’t know what happened with you but I know that this kind of knee jerk reaction to a few bad results when we are still in the race for fourth is typical and symbolic of the British media as a whole. What’s worse is the fact that you “fans” go along with it. Sort yourself out Harry, and the rest of you go wash yourselves. Clowns.

You mentioned literacy, but then all you could do was snipe.

If you can’t debate the facts then I’m certainly not qualified to help you further.

I picked my 2 teams for Sunderland and Norwich on Friday. Harry ended up selecting exactly what I wanted. Many of us have asked for an attacking 4-4-2, and lots of us slated Pienaar as being useless. The reality is the result against Norwich was largely because of the players. We were not tactically beaten. Norwich just wanted it more. They had more commitment. For Spurs, dear ol Ledley is finished but the bigger problem is the likes Bale, Saha, and Defoe who are lazy. Great teams don’t just have skill. They have passion and commitment (and temperament). Right now it is the lack of passion and commitment that worries me.

I wouldn’t call Defoe lazy, but when you’ve got Lennon doing his zig-zags run and not delivering one decent ball, there’s only so many times you’ll make the runs before deciding a different tactic. Our best finisher by a mile and he barely starts. Now we know why all the Arse and city fans were laughing with ‘Wait&see’ grins when we were waxing about him. Totally inept and lazy. £180k a week. The world’s gone mad!

And to say we were not tactically beaten by Norwich is blind. Of course we were tactically beaten. They outpassed our midfield, the forced Lennon to cut in on his invisible left foot, they dragged King all over the pitch, they man-marked to perfection every dead ball.

Same old tripe from Harry – and at the end of season, when we’re 5th or 6th, he go back to saying that when he took over the club we were 2 from bottom, and that we dont pay the same wages blah-blah-blah. He’s a serial club betrayer & bottler, leaving every club on a downward spiral (W.Ham, Soton, Portsmouth) and still remains a manager for over 3 decades who has relegated more teams than trophies won! Champion League? He was havin’ a laff!

Gallas,Rafa, parker must start and finish all of our remaining games. We have no passion without them. Ledley is uninspiring and Ade needs a kick up the Arse. We will get our spurs back as we have the characters to do it. Do we have the manager? I’m no so sure anymore. Our season hangs on the next result and i for one will be watching through open fingers, locked in a room on my own.
