Guten morgan Bayern fans überall!

Loic Remy is making his loyal to the last noises, ‘I’m not ready to go for now. I did not feel they have really done a full season in Marseille. My sense of unfulfilled duty.’ it is suggested by the French press that Spurs have recommenced talks that were left for dead at the beginning of the year.

La Provance the French newspaper are running the tale that Tottenham met with Olympique Marseille on the 4th of January in Paris. A deal was proposed that Spurs buy Remy for a figure thought to be in the region of €24m and loan him back for the remainder of the season.

With the  seasons in both countries more or less done and dusted the quote from the French paper is, ‘The contact has been renewed in concrete with a stated goal: to settle the matter as quickly as possible, before the European Nations Championship.’

Hurrah. Probably.

I don’t think Llorente, Cavani or Hulk would consider a move to Spurs, even if Chelsea lose and we stumble our way into the Champions League. We have to be realistic. Also Newcastle managed to sign two relatively cheap strikers who’ve done wonders. There MUST be some good value out there somewhere and I don’t think Remy at 24Mill or whatever is it (which is paper talk). Maybe at 12, yeah sure he looks decent (and that seems a more realistic price). If we managed to bring in Vertonghen and Remy for a little over £20 mill < that'd be good business. Especially for May! This will be our problem; we will only attract B grade players, with all the A grades going to either Manchester or Cheatski.

The trick is to find an A grade disguise as a B, as in (hate to say it) RVP and the risk is that we pay B grade money for a C grade like Rebrov.

      One name – Souleymane Coulibaly.
Our messianic striker IF given a chance.

      Guaranteed.

Just followed up with that paper, La Provence, you quoted HH, and it seems that Remy had to pull out of the last game with a thigh injury [lésion de cuisse]. The paper quotes Remy as saying that the doctors think it’s minor…

What we don’t want is another Lennon-like scenario, i.e. a lad who’s too prone to injury.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

I agree. I haven’t got the first clue about this guy’s injury record, but this isn’t a brilliant start…

Anyone happy with this team finishing fourth is blinkered beyond comprehension. The top is the target and any failure to get as close that as talent and guile will allow is, well, a fail. This culture of mediocrity needs to go and we need no ghost come from the grave to tell us where to start.

I’m not happy with 4th. I honestly believe we are better than Arsenal but that’s not what the table says today……Harry you have under achieved.

As for strikers (please note these are reasonable signings/prices):
    1. Ady (12m)
    2. Ba (7m)
    3. Rodallega (free)
    4. Coulibaly (youth)

Getting rid of Defoe (10m – 50k p/w) and Ledley (60k p/w) would help with the fee’s and wages.

Ledley – you are a god but the games up for me.

    • Andy says:

So lets say Bayern beat Chelsea and we qualify for CL…

You would be happy with: BA? Rodallega? Seriously??????

I wouldnt be happy with them strikers even if we wasnt in the CL… BA is overrated and his goals have dried up over the last 10 weeks. As for Rodellega… Currently not good enough for Wigan!!!!

      • Dannyspurs says:

So who do you want? For me you have to have four strikers.

Be realistic, Levy is not going to pay for Canvani, Hulk, Llorente etc.

My four are affordable, realistic and give us a bit of everything we need to play one up top.

        • Andy says:

Adebayor, VDV, Victor Moses £8 million, Grant Holt £6-8 million.

That’s 4 strikers who all have different attributes.

Moses is becoming a fantastic player with a all round game. Grant Holt would be a monster if we keep Lennon and Bale on the wings.

All this talk about Remy!? I dont see him as a out and out striker…

5 realistic signings to give us more quality all over the pitch:

          Shay Given
          Verthogen
          Dembele
          Moses
          Adebayor (Buy him Not Loan)

          Sell:
          G Dos Santos
          Kranjcar
          Jenas
          Corluka
          Gomes
          Bentley

        • Chris says:

if we signed ba and Rodallega i would be seriously pissed off! nether are great and rodellega doesnt score goals! coulibaly isnt ready

    • DaveYid says:

Getting rid of Defoe when Adebayor staying is only a mere possibility!?

Have I landed on some strange planet here?

Defoe’s the best striker we have, whether on the bench or in the Starting XI and you want rid of him!?

  • ScottParkerVsTheWorld says:

Best bet is try and turn Schalke’s head with a decent Huntelaar bid. 30+ per season goal machine/poacher is what we need. Remy is nothing like that kind of player. The Hunter is totally that kind of player.
