Well, it could be the other way around…
You could look at him being cover for Lennon, Defoe and VDV. Or else competing to take one of their spots (well, perhaps not Defoe’s as he doesn’t really have one).
I still think VDV for all his attributes is a problem as we have to set up in a special formation to accommodate him and that means when he’s not on song it weakens our general play. So having a different option – one that isn’t going 4-4-2 with Defoe – would be useful.
An intelligent ( football brain) striker ala Berbatov/Raul/ del Piero type would make me happy. If Loic is a bigger version of Defoe I hope he goes to LFC. Spurs are short on Brains in the frontline…
