Good morning pop pickers.

And the hits just keep on coming. The Loic Remy piece of yesterday appears to have legs as a French journo, Matt Spiro who writes for Ligue.1.com has revealed that…

Matt Spiro  @mattspiro

Marseille have told Loic Remy to cancel his planned visit to Spurs’ training ground this week. They want to agree fee with #THFC first

This positively reaffirms the idea that we are ‘properly’ in for the player, but it also rather comically might indicate that they’ve just found out who our chairman is and want to get all the money side of things nailed before their boy starts choosing this coat peg.

Elsewhere, if you haven’t seen it then the Blackburn boss is the unwitting star of a covertly shot mobile phone video that is said to have been shot in a bar in Hong Kong while Rovers were doing their preseason. The clip is here. The interesting bit is where he’s asked about Sam Allardyche. He swiftly repsonds, “Because he’s a f*cking crook.”

Kaboul now out of Euros with a serious knee injury. Maybe we will need more than 1 new CB next season.
On the GK front, a name to strike fear into us all is Rob Green, who will be out of contract next month.

Most of our CBs are injury prone and I think we need at least two new ones so maybe Caulker should be recalled as well as signing Vertonghen

Extreme goal keeping with Rob Green 9 O’Clock Channel 5.. can’t wait!

Surely we should be thinking about Caulker being in our squad (even his main attribute would seem not to be too old or semi injured plus Vertonghen would give us at least an athletic appearance in our CBs for a change.Kaboom has had a reoccurrence of his old knee injury.Daws is getting slower with each knock,Ledley well ? Gallas and Nelson are embarrassing and Bassong is simply not good enough(though quick enough at times).

    .
Great news, Kaboom & Walker are both out of euro 2012.

    :-D

I just hope our esteemed Levy realises that we have to buy. The youngest fans Ive seen at Spurs this year were the Ajax lads who came over for the end of season bash.
We are a dogged bunch us Spurs fans we are part of the biggest fanbase in London..it wont go on forever though many of us are knocking on.
Has there been any news about funding for the ground dont seem to hear so much out of WHL these days.

Leaving Remy aside for a moment (I prefer a Hennessey), the Vertonghen deal is the one we need to see done. Maybe this is being stretched out until after the CL Final, or maybe we are and not for the first time, haggling over a relatively small sum like a couple of icky tailors on the inches in a yard of cloth going metric.

We have lost some seriously good players due to screwing around over a couple of million, whilst happily splashing out on rubbish to get cover because we would not sign the player we wanted…talk about nose and face! How much now Leandro, how much did Cahill go for?

This particular signing is crucial. Vertonghen is not just a centre back, he is a centre back in the style of Ledders and Billy, the very area we are coverless in. Kaboom and Daws are foils for this poasition and this player. We need a footballer there not another bull at a gate.

This player (if we can keep him fit) should be the first name on the team sheet. He’s northern Europe so used to our conditions and clearly likes winning. With Ledders in form we were awesome, not just as a sound defence but in the confidence that gave the payers further upfield to really go for it knowing someone had their backs. We need a new Ledders; this guy appears to tick all the boxes.

To endanger his signing (and you can see the Goons and ManU and a few others happily chucking 9m out for him) is frankly daft. Ajax can be accused of playing the game, but they will get 9m at least for him, so that is the going rate!

Stop messing about and book him Danno!

      Yup.

      Plus a GK.

And I can live with Remy since the French national team does.

Have to agree with that Finn, he should be the first signing we make before someone else comes in, offers the full fee and turns his head with more money in wages.

Not only is he a winner but he is a Captain of winners too!! We always moan that we need more leadership on the pitch.

This is one instance where I will be very pee’d off if we lose out on him over a million or two.
