Good morning pop pickers.

And the hits just keep on coming. The Loic Remy piece of yesterday appears to have legs as a French journo, Matt Spiro who writes for Ligue.1.com has revealed that…

Marseille have told Loic Remy to cancel his planned visit to Spurs’ training ground this week. They want to agree fee with #THFC first

This positively reaffirms the idea that we are ‘properly’ in for the player, but it also rather comically might indicate that they’ve just found out who our chairman is and want to get all the money side of things nailed before their boy starts choosing this coat peg.

Elsewhere, if you haven’t seen it then the Blackburn boss is the unwitting star of a covertly shot mobile phone video that is said to have been shot in a bar in Hong Kong while Rovers were doing their preseason. The clip is here. The interesting bit is where he’s asked about Sam Allardyche. He swiftly repsonds, “Because he’s a f*cking crook.”

I have always found it extremely easy to dislike Blackburn and their manager. This video actually gives me some respect for him. Fair play for some straight talking

I personally had similar – somewhat uncomfortable – feelings regarding Barton yesterday when he attacked Shearer for being a bellend who wears shit shirts and spouts hypocritical bollocks. Can’t argue with any of that.

Also, he is obviously a wrong-un but Tevez started it and should have seen red too. Nobody mentioned this at all.

It was also mildly amusing when Gary Lineker put in his two pence worth on twitter, and then quickly shut up after Barton mocked his “Mr Squeaky Clean” image and invited him to carry on at the risk of Joey exposing Lineker’s questionable past.

Though that didn’t stop George Lineker (only vaguely famous for being his Dad’s son to my knowledge) having a dig at Barton. Without him highlighting the @Joey7Barton bit. Probably too scared.

Agreed – that’s what really caused JB to blow a fuse. Tevez started it and got clean away.

I have found really easy to dislike all other teams and sometimes THFC.
jason Roberts thoughts on kean wouldbe good to hear.

Have no fear, Willie McKay is here! The unsavoury “agent” has a Bosman lined up to score a large commission on, and this suggests his old mate Harry could be interested in helping to line his pockets, I mean erm, securing this talented individual for our club. No horsing around this time eh? ;-)

‘Momo is disappointed he did not play as much for Wigan in the second half of this season, but he enjoyed his time at Wigan, although he always saw it as a stepping stone to move to a bigger club.’

      :silly:

Oh great, just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water.

Looks like we’re gonna need a bigger boat.

Why is it when Brody see’s the shark he cant just pull out his revolver and shot the fecking thing ?. Shit film but happy ending.

        • Phil McAvity says:

          Don’t talk pish, it’s a classic!!

A revolver against a great white shark? Good luck with that.

What you clearly need to kill a great white shark is an air canister, a rifle and a good eye!! Or a big thick electrical cable (plugged in), a rubber dingy and a paddle (see Jaws 2!)

Redknapp and Rosie dont deserve any say in transfers .

Watching the video of Remy, and from the two times I watched Marseille this season, he reminds me a lot of Coulibaly. They both have great first steps, no fear taking on defenders and possess lightning quick releases on their shots. Remy is good in the air, but he is not close to as physical as Drogba so that isn’t a good comparison IMO.

HH – Gio has never been given a chance here under HR because he is not a RM and is not strong enough to play CM in the PL. At the European club level he only fits in the role that VdV (and Krancjar as backup) has occupied the last two seasons or upfront in a 4-3-3. This is the same reason why he didn’t stick at Barca.

    • Steveo1987 says:

We need to raise the bar with Gio.

To stop him ordering drinks ?

On the subject of potential missed chances, how come Pienaar looks great for Everton with numerous goals and assists both pre and post Spurs, but on his very rare outings for us he looks very ordinary ?

You could also ask the same question re the Prince, who is now in AC Milan’s first team, although to be honest, I never thought he looked that good when playing for us.

Are we too quick to judge ? Vidic and Colocinni both looked like clowns when they first came here but both proved their doubters wrong eventually and you could say the same is true of Kaboul with us.

        • LLL says:

Yes we are (too quick to judge). It was obvious to most sane people that Pienaar as the best international in his team and one of Everton’s best players had a bit of quality. But because his signing was heralded as underwhelming the fans didn’t really warm to him. Then he wasn’t give as much of a look in. His confidence would have taken a knock and he would be nervous whenever he did get a chance, and the fans consolidated their opinion that he wasn’t up to much. I say bring him back to the squad for next season and give him a better shot at it.
