I’m so confused!

Manchester City, Manchester United and the 3rd placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the group stage* next season.

  • The 5th placed team in the Premier League will enter the Europa League in the play-off round next season.
  •  Liverpool will enter the Europa League in the 3rd qualifying round next season.

  • The 4th placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the play-off round next season.

  • Chelsea will enter the Champions’ League in the group stage next season.
  • The 4th placed team in the Premier League will take Chelsea’s FA Cup European qualifying spot and will enter the Europa League next season.

However it’s not yet clear whether they will take the same spot in UEFA’s Access List and start in the Group Stage or whether this honour will pass to the domestic Cup winner of another country and whether the 4th placed team have to start in the play-off round instead. UEFA will confirm this were this scenario to happen.

  • The 3rd placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the group stage* next season.

* It is not yet fully established whether 3rd place will secure a group stage seeding or have to play a qualifying round, should Chelsea win the Champions League.

heh heh…Reschnapps sounds like a man begging for his job….I wonder what are the odds are on HR being replaced right after the Champions league final?

If he had stopped the slump in February/ March we would be third and he would be in a strong position.
Also, Levy offered him a new contract in February when the England job links started and he refused to sign it.
The contract is no longer on the table and he is at Levy’s mercy.
The frustrarting thing is that if we keep our top players and buy a GK, CB and CF if Ade goes, we could potentially have a real crack at it next year.
So do we want more uncertainty regarding a possible change of manager ?

agree, i don’t think levy will sack him, but if he does it needs to be now. We’ve had enough uncertainty. Presumably levy had someone lined up in case redknapp went to england

To be fair David the uncertainty over the managers position seems to be on here. The fans at the game today were singing ‘Arry give us a wave’. Most other clubs would love to have Arry, and think we are nuts for wanting rid. I’m certain he will be our manager next season. In fact although some may call me reckless I intend to empty my bank account and bet that Harry Redknapp is our manager next season. Could be the best $1.37 I ever spend.

Redknapp refusing to sign the contract could well come back to haunt him. If he was unwilling to commit to the club in February, can he have any real complaints when the club refuses to commit to him three months later?

Good positive official statement on the official site from our great leader of leaders, seems to know what to say and when to say it . Not like the coach he employs.

I’m glad Levy mentioned the women’s football. It’s so important and just doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. I’m going to stick my neck out here and declare that women’s football is the future. I firmly believe that women are part of the human race and that they should be allowed to participate in society as human beings. That might be a stretch for some people but I believe it and it starts with football. I’d like to propose a new campaign to run alongside ‘Kick Racism Out Of Football’; ‘Kick Men Out Of Football- Entirely’.

      • Spurstacus says:

Sorry. I have just reread the report and in it they are reffered to as ‘ladies’. It’s just so hard to tell these days isn’t it?

      • melcyid says:

Look he only mentioned the ladies football to keep her indoors quiet ,he is the consumate diplomatic assassin.

  • UnkleKev says:

I see Stoke were up to their ‘by any means necessary’ tactics today. The Premier League would be a much better place for their non-participation.

  • Yachtsman says:

It’s too easy to lay all the blame on ‘Arry for our lousy run. He did not help with not signing a contract, if that’s kosher (how can we be sure?), but the almost universal agreement that he should be England’s manager had its effect, on ‘Arry (it would on you and me too) and on the squad. That, plus the trial business, both these factors unsettled the lads.

Added to which there are countless examples of teams running out of steam just when the opposite should have been the case. Let’s be honest with ourselves. How much blame can be apportioned to the maaager? For example, 2-0 up at the Arse. Then 2-1. Then 2-2. What would we do in ‘Arry’s place? Fact is the lads folded. Or whatever the term is. If my post game diagnosis has any merit, the reason for our loss there is that we simply did not have the strength of character to come back. Or, that we lacked at least one or two key individuals to take charge, to haul us back. Not al of which should be laid at ‘Arry’s door.

    More (may be) later.

      This from the Chairmans report-

By the time you return for the new season the First Team and the Academy will have moved to their new home – the Tottenham Hotspur Football Training Centre, Hotspur Way, in Enfield. The completion of this fantastic facility comes at the end of seven years of planning and three years of construction and fit out, costing £45m. We are proud to have seen it come to fruition.
