Hola.

Apologies for going missing aujourd’hui, I am on the proverbial lamb. This blog however I do believe this well worth sharing and have nipped into an emporium that offers greater riches* than a Las Vegas hotel in order to get this to you.

*If your perception of ‘riches’ is a jacket potato machine that obviously hasn’t been cleaned since it left the factory.

This then is a decent gem from the heavily guarded, FTL forum … all [sic] courtesy of ‘Cabinessence’…

Levy and Pleat are close in relation to potential signings. Him and God knows how many others. Danny Boy really does his homework and speaks to loads before going in.

Apparently our targets are heavily influenced by a ‘team’ of statisticians who pour over numbers-someone mentioned Remy having scored more headers from set pieces than any other forward in Europe?

Well that’s the sort of info they’d know. Arry just says where we need strengthening and then gets asked if he has any objections to whoever the team put forward as the solution.

He might throw a few names in the hat himself but generally it’s down to the team. It certainly isn’t based on scouting someone for 2 games. He has no input on the financial aspects of any deal other than when the solution being put forward might have an impact on other acquisitions.

Apparently under our current business model we have around £20m to spend each year but that includes any increases in salary either from new signings or contract renegotiations. Needless to say we do HP on every deal. VDV £8m was written over 4 yrs apparently.

But their wages impact on that £20m for the duration of their stay with us unless we offload players. So someone new on £70,000pw basically takes £3.6m out of our £20m every year.

Obviously a CL foray increases the coffers but as that can’t be, ‘guaranteed’ it’s not included for wages planning. Danny Boy very pee’d off with ‘Arry who virtually went “missing” from his court case till Woy got appointed. Words were said.

Team meeting of players did happen saying that no meaningful tactics were being worked on for the period etc etc. Basically it was just them and the coaching staff.

Club not happy with Lennon’s attitude either.

Our Finance guy thinks L’pool’s financial model sucks.

The £50m debt we have is for the purchase of stadium land. But we’ve done a deal with Sainsbury who’ll give us either £50m or £70m. Can’t remember, but know both figures were mentioned.

Anyway they’re going to build the biggest Sainsbury’s in the country on there and that will start v soon, as will the hotel. Stadium won’t start till a £150m naming rights deal is done which hasn’t been yet.

Oh and there’s something happening down White Hart Lane relating to something being done with the council and involving parking.

    Have we signed Benzema yet?

I am constantly amazed by some of the comments on our financial affairs – mostly from people who would have trouble checking the change from a packet of fags. If there were a chairman of the year award Levy should walk it for the job he does delivering a competitive squad without putting the economic foundations of the club at risk. There are plenty of examples of how not to do it – Liverpool, Villa, West Ham, Blackburn – need I go on? DL is an exceptional businessman and top level football is a business first and foremost.
Like everyone I am disappointed we didn’t convert a strong position into a least third place and I do believe our manager’s brain went awol for a big chunk of the season but it doesn’t alter the fundamentals.

We were toldwe were getting new groungd in Tottenham then Stratford . Every year we are linked with players that were never going to come.
Levy and Lewis have 1 purpose to get THFC to a point at which it can be sold at anything but a loss.
You are right there are clubs that squander money there are clubs which owners bleed dry with the support of the Premier League and the FA.
Then you have THFC. Banged out every home game, turnover increasing and we get nelson and saha while Redknapp has a couple of months off.
Do me a favour. I strongly suspect that Redknapp and Levy compliment Spurs perfectly , they both have taken spurs as far as they can.
Success its a nightmare, how should it be managed, let it slip out the backdoor and give em entertainment.
Accepting we are a small club has never been on my agenda until this season.

      • Nobby have to tell you that Levy would have been a hero. It was that close.
With an economy that probably assesses paper clips, the man gave us an opportunity of a lifetime.
Whilst there were two main strategies for most clubs and that is either get a band of also rans and a manager who could pull them together in a system (we had too many names for that) or the endless well of money strategy where money is turned on like a tap and there are few limits (our last run at that was in the summer of 1961 when we bought Greaves)
We did try a third way.It was more Petticoat Lane than Mayfair but Daniel almost succeeded. He begged and borrowed his way to third place only to find the old barrow boy looking elsewhere while the cpunters were all at the stall.
With a limited budget (nil) we got close. We may have left a few players languishing on the bench but so what?
        Daniel almost won the lottery.
I too do not accept this mediocrity but unless we sell Modric and make two fantastic buys we are doomed….at least for a while.
Harry definately blew it while Levy did give us a chance even at a discount price.
But I think its time.Im thinking the Steinbrenners and how big the Sainsburys can really get.

Had it not been for Sheikh Mansoor we would be an established Champions League outfit of three years’ standing by now. The fact that we are still within touching distance against the spending power of Blue Scum #1 and Blue Scum #2 speaks volumes about the stewardship of Levy. His approach to shifting deadwood frustrates the hell out of me at times but I know we’re in very safe hands with him at the helm.

        • nobby nobbs says:

Had it not been Sheikh Mansoor. What is your point? That another club got taken over by people with the money to run it ? Had it not been for such shite purchases in january and redknapp acting like a cock we wouldve been 3rd. Fish and Chips is safe but I dont want to eat it all the time.
To me it smacks of Levy and Enic running out of ideas.

        • What Tottenham supporter wants to eat Fish and Chips.
          It reeks of the coast.
Think…. Portsmouth,Southampton,Portsmouth,Brighton,Hove,Portsmouth,Southampton and all trains to Dorset.

No..I tried filet mignon many years ago and refuse now the jellied eels and fish and chips being served up today….

Gilzenwasgod you shouldn’t be amazed. It’s a blog written for the great unwashed, read and digested by the great unwashed and regurgitated as indisputable fact, even if it has a running record of inaccuracy at 100%!
If you want to really want to read serious comments about anything Spurs related this is not the place for you. Everyone knows that HH worshipps at his own alter and has an a fictonal ego to match let alone his morbidity and fascination with all things dead.

What a truly fascinating existence it must be.

I bet you strut into your local Burger King on regular basis and theatrically mock them for their lack of crockery.

  • By the way have we signed Heskey yet or are we too far about on wages?

  • Michael says:

God knows why but Vertonghen actually seems desperate to play for us. The sort of player Surely even Levy can’t mess this up by playing hardball?

This is what i don’t understand City Psg Chelsea Utd Barca Madrid are all in the Champs league by using borrowed cash. This is in a few disguises some get it from banks others steal it from Siberia others use there Country’s wealth without asking the people. So why have we excepted Ufas unfair ruling even Sepp weak Bladder has said its wrong and they have ditched the World Cup winners getting automatic entry into following World Cup. This is what hurts me whether you believe me or not its a lot nearer the truth i had to bite my tongue hard when we lost too Arsenal in the now famous desperate game. The following weeks i also had to swallow hard when Chelsea and Newcastle threatened our Champs league place and finaly i had to listlen to Plattini snide comments about us being unfairly treated when he said we should have won the league or finished higher. This begs believe for a few reasons firstly two Russians playing Utd in Plattinis Champs league failed drug tests for Ephedrine they got a two match ban and 6,000 fine. I watched this game and i swear on my life i knew they had taken this drug not one team but both the game finished 3-3. The Russian players excuse they had chest colds the same excuse Paddy Kenny gave. Now if i can tell when teams have upped there work rate then i can tell you all my fellow Cockerels don’t blame Harry for our limping into fourth or praise Pardew Wenger Dematio for there sudden form. This is what i said on many bloggs in January two things would happen in the run into the top four our players would be tapped and points would be harder to get. Sadly both my points came true and even if Harry had not been picked by the people and media we would still have struggled. This is why when you use Tut this is my word for extra work rate you don’t play exciting football like Spurs you play like Chelsea and this Russian team Defend in numbers attack in waves blocks saves are all down to extra Tut and very late goals like City Chelsea and Arsenal. The team i reported played exactly like Chelsea and they also won on penalty’s five seasons ago in the same way has Chelski. So i want too no if any of my fellow fans want to start a campaign to get rid of this killer way of playing and send a message to Plattini all is not right with Football and to get into the top three you need extra energy like Paddy Kenny Toure used at Sheffield and City. Coys very proud of you

    • Spurstacus says:

After reading all that I need an energy drink/

      • getusreinstated says:

You can get it at Chelski or Newcastle City Arsoles half price now they have finished .Trust me its here real and happening Drugba was not born gaunt or Malouda Banayoun they work on it. I will tell all on Piers Morgan the Eyes have it another season at Chleski and Drugba would e vanish up his own arse
