Goodbye & Good Riddance

Good evening.

The word from nigh on 327+ sources this evening is that Arry ‘feel good’ Redschnapps has been vomited out of White Hart Lane.

There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition, we ran molasses into Canada… made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him.

Later on he had an idea to build a city out of a desert stop-over for GI’s on the way to the West Coast. That kid’s name was Moe Greene, and the city he invented was Las Vegas. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn’t even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him in that town! Someone put a bullet through his eye.

No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn’t angry; I knew Moe, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we’ve chosen; I didn’t ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!

I am really pleased that we are about to hound out the man responsible for putting together arguably the 3rd best Spurs team in history.

I’m just off now to try and remember why this is a good thing again. Some moron with a website assured me it is though, so I’m sure it is.

  • It’s now been confirmed that Harry has gone.

I can understand some fans’ reactions who are unhappy at this news, but in all honesty, did he really give the board any other choice?

    What:

1 Apparently offered a new, four-year contract some months’ ago but chose not to accept it and then, as soon as he doesn’t get the England job, wants a new, long-term contract?
    2. Says during our slump that managerial issues don’t affect player performance and morale but now says players feel insecure not knowing about the manager’s contract and position,
    3. Seemed to side more with Modric during last year’s Chelsea transfer saga,
    4. Admitted last week that he would have taken the England job if offered it, therefore confirming he would have walked out on us,
    5. Regarded qualifying for the Champion’s League as ‘over-rated’, as if expecting us as supporters to wear with good grace what can only be termed an appalling slump.

Harry’s cooked his own goose, pure and simple, and he has no-one else to blame but himself.

8-4-5-4. No that is not a formation !

harryhotspur, you MONG ! Grow a brain and just *think* of the implications for this club now.

You sir, are a disgrace to this club.

Firmly on the fence. On one hand how can you argue with 4th twice in 3 years and our inaugural CL run, considering the finances of those who finished above us. But I don’t buy this “look where we were when he took over” crap either. He didn’t elevate us to 4th / 5th, he restored us to where we should have been after Ramos screwed up. 80% of PL managers could have turned that around with our squad. And I can’t forgive conceding a 10 point lead, experimenting with playing our best out of position when everyone from ballboys to fricking Chripy could see it wasn’t working. The put downs to the fans, telling us we should be happy and grateful with what he’s done. The two-facedness with telling us the prospective England job wasn’t affecting the players “they don’t care who’s managing them” and yet not sorting out his contract means they’ll all be off. I wish him well, and I’ll be eternally grateful for witnessing some of the finest football I’ve seen Spurs play in my 35 years, but I wont miss all the BS that came with it. Just wish this had happened sooner. Rogers was my only realistic choice out of the other PL managers who might take the job. Moyes, Martinez just won’t be up to it I’m afraid. Anyone got Pep Guardiola’s number?

  • Spurs 37001 says:

Pep Guardiola – do me a favour, we’ve got no choice.

Appoint Johan Cruyff with a freehand to select a first teach coach (even if it is Martin Jol).

Not Moyes – has done a sound job, at an average club, with limited finances (sounds familiar), bad starters, play defensive football. Top eight performer – might do a runner if the Lord of The Rings sequel is made.
PS.The only thing worth buying from Everton is their motto.

Capello – can’t talk English, made Terry the excuse for leaving England because he knew we wouldn’t do anything in 2012.

Martinez – one quarter of a swallow does not make a summer.

Benitez – ran out of ideas at Liverpool and was crap at Inter.

Klinsmann – on pots of money, building the boys from Brazil team in the USA.

Graeme Souness – is it too late for a return to the lane?

    Paulo DiCanio – outside bet.
