New Manager In 48hrs

Good morning.

I am reliably informed from UK based source that Andres Villas Boas is to be unveiled on Monday. And Jan Vertonghen by Wednesday.  If it doesn’t happen, then I must remind passengers that refunds can only be issued upon production of a valid receipt.

As per yesterday’s piece the Italian press cited were pretty ‘robust’ in their claim, not suggesting rather reporting that the deal for the ex Chelsea boss was a done deal.

What I find ‘amusing’ for want of better word …is that’s the disgruntled pro Arry mob who are talking in such unforgiving terms about Villas Boas before he’s even installed. The irony.

All I want from any new manager is for the team, its coaching and its tactics to be the focus. Not the ‘personality’ in charge. THFC are on the cusp of something here and I don’t mean the usual ‘fingers crossed’ business. I mean the NPD and the endless thorny issue of it’s funding.

My contempt for Arry was mistaken by some as a personal hate campaign, again ironically by people who speak about him as if he were a relative. My issue was always with the damage being done to THFC. Was I alone in this? If I was I did some job convincing Levy & Co to sack him. Derren Brown you’re toast, son.

Imagine WHL with one of those church funds signs stuck on the outside it. You know, one of those big arrow things showing how close the money raised to the target is.

Right, now whatever figure you think we’re at… minus £30m. Because that’s why knuckle head was fired.

You can harp on about finishing fourth as long as you like. Nobody with half a brain cares. This is serious now and the pretty sexy resources we have need managing.

If the next man in does his best and doesn’t do anything glaringly stupid he’ll have my support. I think that’s reasonable, no?

I expect some common sense, some enterprise and some consistency. I don’t expect to see him looking brain damaged, chimping out of a car window waving a mobile phone like a banana.

I don’t expect him to make me cringe everytime he opens his mouth, I don’t expect him to tell me that a tournament that has probably surpassed the World Cup for many football fans is ‘overrated.’

Great piece HH; I could not agree more with what you have wrote.
PS I believe the final straw for Levy was when he was asked by Harry if he could sign Kanu instead of trying to negotiate fot Manu.

Are the people of Spurs world deluded … I see forums saying yes to Moyes and AVB … are we that brain washed that we want a mid table manager or a 6 month looser at our helm … Think bigger for god sake AVB oh get real!!

    • calebray says:

in your opinion then, is avb not an upgrade on redknapp?
i believe he is tactically more aware, can conduct himself in a manner befitting the club and will not try to sell our best players from under the chairmans nose whilst whoring himself through the media for a potential job that he perceives to be better.

      just a thought……..

        I totally agree

AVB is a nobody, Chelski got rid because he could not hold the players together, I mean, here is a man who told his players when they score they have to come an celebrate with him as well!!! 4yr olds on the playground Yes but not at a PL football club. The man has never won anything of renown(the Portuguese league is no better than the Scot’s PL). He is inept at best … Capello I could understand or even the current French national team manager, two people who have won things that matter … now they are my type of managers.

        • calebray says:

so do you genuinely believe that this is a backwards move?

        • Merlin says:

Don’t be brainwashed by the Cheatski fans and their media whores. AVB’s only mistake was to manage a team run by the egos of the older players. Cheatski was (and still is) a poisoned chalice for any new manager wanting to build for the future. Spurs on the other hand are not run by player power and are ripe for a new manager with tactical nous.

so true avb is a step forward because he has dignity, tactical awareness and a knowledge of the world game. Harry lacked all of these. If it is him, we should embrace him and think Europe league qualification until the new stadium arrives and only then, with increased funds, push on…

Isn’t this the same blog writer who guaranteed Benzema would sign for us?

    Consider yourself disregarded, Madam.

Some Yids might be stupid enough to might mistake your speculative, jargon-ridden articles as insightful or even clever. It’s a real shame you are the most popular Spurs blog linked to newsnow.

Please, do all the real supporters a favor and run yourself straight into oncoming traffic.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

If I might quote that blog,

HH understands that a loan deal with an option to buy has been agreed with Real Madrid.

I haven’t got seven years spare to rake through my entire archive, but I’ll take it for granted you’re a fair chap and you also thanked me for passing on news ahead of the official site relating to those we did sign.

Oh yes, I’m a bloke :ermm:

Agree with you totally HH. I think in AVB we have a manager who will speak when required and be able to shut the f*ck up when required, something HR could never do and wow, did i cringe so many times at what was being spouted! I think Levy is doing a good job in general and certainly back him if AVB is announced tomorrow? Ive got root canal treatment tomorrow morning and you know what? i dont care.. I shall be sat in that dentist chair, phone in hand waiting for the breaking news! COYS
