Gotta wonder how Chavski feel. Spend £13m on a top manager to improve their non-existent football, but because of the egos of their rebellious, anti-footballing squad they’re left with a West Brom failure caretaker, while a team above them poaches their big money signing. They must be praying as hard as Harry “Punching above their weight” that he doesn’t deliver.
when you add in the severance packages of both ancelotti & AVB, it’s probably closer to a £35-40 million cost to change managers twice in the past year for chelsea
I watched most of their games when they were getting stuffed under AVB and the amount of unforced errors by experienced pro’s was unbelievable, very underhand IMO and possibly corrupt even? They were playing like they wanted rid of him at all cost. Terry, Lampard & sideshow bob made most of the cock ups but asking the dog to defend a high line is asking for trouble isn’t it?
I honestly don’t know how good he could be, his record at porto was astonishing but at chelsea very poor.
Sometimes in life people just don’t fit the jobs they get but go on to excel elsewhere. Clough at Leeds a prime example and possibly similar circumstances.
