Some Particularly Plausible Snippets

Good morning.

After the Charlie Adam blog and dealing the moronic …the caption comp was just the tonic. Thank you.

Some cracking stuff from Freeeki on Spurs Community then.

  • Zeki Fryers to Spurs has been completed for a while, not sure why it isn’t on OS but in my source’s words “Sir Alex was taking the p*ss” offering him £1900 per week. Daniel offered £10k so it was a no brainer. 18 months ago he thought the guy was gonna get released but came in to his own last season and reckons he’s gonna be big news.
  • He also said similar to others about Adebayor – fee agreed, terms agreed with Spurs, sticking point is negotiating a leaving package with City. As far as Ade’s concerned, if City want rid that badly they should honour what’s left of his contract in the form of a donation to his charity.
  • (non-THFC) Edin Dzeko back in training with MCFC and doesn’t look like he’s off anywhere which would suggest Ade is definitely going. He doesn’t think SAF is interested in Van Persie, more trying to make a tit out of City. Doesn’t think SAF would pay upwards of £220k for a 29-yr-old.
  • (different source) Berbatov’s attitude is getting United squad down, definitely off but doesn’t know where to but said Spurs definitely not looking to take him back. He reluctantly went on tour with them but didn’t want to be there. Doesn’t seem to be too popular among the squad or staff (surprise surprise).

City and Cheatski will implode because of their astronomical wage structures. Players have a short career and need to make a lot of money as quickly as possible, so taking a huge wage cut and is not an attrctive proposal and they would rather see out the last 3 years of their contracts not play and get those huge wages fattening up the squad and squandering money. Players say that all they want to do is play and money is not the be all and end all! Pork Pies !!

Ive never been good up top.
Assuming Ade signs I assume we will get one other.
Would we sell Modric internally (oo er) if RM dont bite. I was hoping for Moutinho.
I hope DL has it all under control.

  • It will be interesting after the Modric deal is done,if it ever will be done,to see if Daniel spends as it seems he would be doing earlier in the windowor will he continiue this value startegy he has had for a while?

What if Modric didnt go this year to Spain because the deal couldnt be done?
Maybe we can pick up Hulk and then Berba for 3 mil.
Not so bad. Can you imagine the commentary when two sulks and one Hulk play together?

    • Gary B says:

Will that change our football with a smile?

Reports from Dinamo Zagreb are that RM have offered nearly 45m euros for Modric. Don’t know if this is wishful thinking on their part as they have a sell on clause, or if they’ve heard something.

RM need to make their move sooner rather than later to avoid getting into the Chavski position of leaving it too late for us to get a replacement, and we all know how that ended.

      • We are splitting hairs here.
If Levy gets 35 mil pounds or 33 million pounds or 30 million pounds what does it matter?

At this stage either the commitment is there or its not and thats for both sides.
I think now is the time.
        They both know it.

And what if the deal falls through? Are PSG going to ante up 40 mil?

Now is the time to make the deal get a good relationship with RM going and work quickly (if not already) of the targets

        • Gary B says:

I’d agree that the deal needs to be done asap, but it appears that DL and AVB are united on a ‘meet our price or walk away’ stance, so Madrid will need to get close for a deal to be done.

If not, presumably, he stays and we push for a Champions League place, which will add a minimum of £20m to the coffers.

That’s the bit that puts us in a strong bargaining position.

  • Bobbles says:

What annoys me is we always balls up the start of the season in terms of concluding our business for the sake of a mil or two here or there.

I know the deadline is the end of August, but far beter to have all our business wrapped up by a week before kick off I’d have thought.

By the 17th I could still see us owning Modric, Moutinho drifting out of reach and us only having Defoe and Ade as recognisable strikers.

    Not good enough!

  • UnkleKev says:

If, as is being reported, Shitty are prepared to let Adebayor go on a free (whilst also making the requisite contribution to his charity) thus allowing him to come to us and stay within our existing salary structure…

Well, in a history of excellent deals brokered by our chairman that’d have to rank as being the very best of ’em.
