Dembele Then Lloris And At Least One More

Good morning.

Lloris’s arrival at The Lane is imminent we’re told. One commentator on Spurs Community suggesting that after negotiations didn’t seem to have achieved too much s few weeks back we apparently received a call a day or two ago essentially saying, ‘if you still want him, we’re good to go.’

Friedel is owed a debt of thanks by Spurs fans for stepping into a situation that was pretty horrible. Gomes, once one of the finest goal keepers in the world reduced to a wincing shadow of his former self.

Moussa Demebele is allegedly a Spurs player too. This is an inspired bit of business and for all the talk of Moutinho, this guy knows the league and is ready to rock.

The third kit is out. This exquisite garment has been lovingly manufactured by Maison Sweatshop Under Armour and comes as is in a duo tone Battleship Grey and Taxi de Londres. If I’d known this was in the pipeline I’d have given the 125th kit an easier ride.

The window closes at midnight in two days time and not before. There should be more signings, possibly two, certainly one. Levy & Co. have not been dawdling, these deals are complex. But then the intelligent amongst you already knew that.

I haven’t seen any reports / rumours regarding strikers in the last couple of days, which is worrying. Big links to Will.I.An of course, but he’s a winger (would be a great buy).
Maybe if we keep VDV & Defoe, we have 5 potential strikers still – VDV, Defoe, Ady, Kane & Dos Santos?? – Still think he’s worth a run out.

2 goals in 36 games last season, not sold on Dembele yet……just dont see it

  • Thepin says:

You’re right – this is when the adults play. Expect more shenanigens, as per usual, right up to end the 11th hour. Certain people are always surprised when this happens, but then there still people that think this ‘might be defoe’s season, if he is only given a run.’ :freu

Not sure about Lloris, seemed a bit nervous when I’ve seen him play but a good shot stopper a la, Robert Green  .

Dembele is an upgrade (mobility) on the Honey monster, and should add a litte more threat from the depths of midfield, to keep oppo midfielders on the back foot. Now competition for Lennon (willian), and Benny (man u kid), and the Angel at the top of the tree: Leandro Dam-buster.

    Ooohhh, shivers…..

competition for bennys gone to standard liege

      • Thepin says:

A N other – he needs a little kick up the ass now and again, or somebody should just hide his bong before games.

      • UnkleKev says:

Liege will only have him ’til January … at which point he’ll move to Norf Lundun (thus bypassing the need for a tribunal).

This comment is in danger of matching the legendary “Benzema” remarks from one HH. :freu

However, you can reserve the right to tell me you were correct in February. :daumen:

        • UnkleKev says:

Just remember — you heard it here first.
          :shifty:

    • SpursGator says:

He would be great if he just got some decent service, Thepin.

Translation: if Defoe were just given 100 easy passes, at his feet, in the six-yard box, with the GK out of position, then the man would surely score 20 goals more per season!

      • Thepin says:

That’s the problem with JD – 100 passes to the six yard box won’t find his feet, coz he’s usually on the edge of the frickin’ box at that point. I just hope Harry gets a job quick, so that there is at least one person n the country interested in taking him (to sit on the bench).

      • Hot_Spur says:

In the WBA game Bale put 2 or 3 cracking balls across the edge of the six yard box and Defoe was nowhere near. Bale then got fed up and didn’t bother any more.

  • greavesie says:

too many midfeilders in that line up

  • Hot_Spur says:

I believe the window closes at 11pm, not midnight

    • greavesie says:

      why?

      • Thepin says:

Union rules – The Sky Sports news cleaners are in by 11.01pm, hoovers on, then taxi pick up at about 11.45pm, to get them all home. It switches to pre-recorded stuff done earlier on Man CIty for KAKA, or OB outside Spurs Lodge/WHL for our rabbit outta the hat at 11-30pm.

      • Habib says:

Because it’s the European transfer window and it has been decided it will close at 11 pm

      • Hot_Spur says:

Mainland Europe is 1 hour ahead of us, it closes at midnight their time, 11pm our time.

    • spurskip says:

i would say you would have to send in paperwork round 11to the fa,busy busy.the reds were intrested in dembele so we done well, good strong player,Lloris is a great signing, and if we get willian well done mister levy, just a pity the rat held up our spending, cant wait to see our team at its strongest, coys :daumen:

      • Bobbles says:

Levy could have taken Madrid’s money weeks ago give or take a million, so it hardly seems fair to blame The Rat.

        • spurskip says:

yes he could have sealed the deal earlier at what cost, more than a million or 2.the rat and HR cost us 3rd place last year,so f#c* them. i hope we seal two more deals, its always late for us,but its looking good,Lloris in fairness has to be better than a 41 year old respectfully and cudicini, sell gomes, jenASS,vdv the 60min man, bentley, dossantos.shaktar want 30mill for willian,we wont pay that for mouthino,,mabey dzagoev

    • MarseilleYid says:

That’s not fair. It just doesn’t give us long enough to complete deals.
