The suggestion is from @theSPURSinsider that the sale of Modric to Real Madrid has prompted the purchase of João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho and subject to the usual bumfluferies a Spurs player. Now this is admittedly a brave move but I have to say yet again this makes sense.
Nobody specifically knows what the deal is with players whims and wages and other demands but if this guy has/could be landed I’d be ecstatic. Why? He’s primarily a central midfielder, who also operates as a holding or attacking midfielder on either wing. He is a glaringly obvious André Villas type acquisition.

not a chance. mouitinho wont come to spurs plus he wants top money. after 20years season ticket holder at white hart lane its taken me long time to realise small club with great history but a chairman who runs club as business so success is not gonna happen. 2 trophies in 20years. until the income of 60k seater its impossible to meet these players demands. sad but true. more likely 10million player with promise we can sell on.
chris we have moved up a level since the “Thanks but no thanks, love Rivaldo” days. 100k wage cap, bale, jan, syggi, avb, 4th place finishes, training center, all systems go for stadium..have some faith brother.

That would be great news indeed, but does he speak English? would seem rather silly to ask the guy to play the most important position in terms of dictating play if he cant communicate with the rest of the lads on the pitch.
If this comes off 99% of us will be expecting a top notch performance from him immediately.. so if he is slow on the lingo.. we could be slow to get going.

Hope so. Surely we’re getting more for Modric than we’d be spending on Moutinho otherwise wouldn’t be a great deal from a financial point of view.
