Fabrique Belgique C’est Creme De La Menthe!

Good morning.

These Interlulls have becomeĀ  increasingly tedious. I don’t know if football has moved on or regressed but International football is about as ‘on trend’ as a pair of plus fours. The first question is rarely ‘did you see it?’ rather ‘any injuries?’

Two Tottinghams featured in the goal rush. The Midget Gem Defoe and new boy Jan Vertonghen.

Defoe

Textbook Defoe. The game itself was in the main unwatchable fare with Moldova looking not so much outgunned but a bit scared. James Milner also scored which if you missed the action, gives you an idea as to what joys you managed to swerve.

Vertonghen

This is an interesting proposition for us now as Jan would appear (on the strength of this clip at least) to have the power and direction that several of our wannabe free kick specialists such as Kaboul and Walker lack. Perhaps the boss wants to include this in one of his Power Points for the Reading game?

Like the cut of Vertonghen’s jib? Well, if you want to listen to the world’s greatest Spurs podcast here, you’ll also catch a remix of an Eagles classic dedicated to the bionic Belgian.

Defoe was horrible even with Moldova. I can bet AVB will be starting him though

Graham Roberts ‘Harry was better’ soundbite courtesy of the Daily Shart.

He says it wall be all pain under AVB because he doesn’t have a silly grin on his face when interviewed – I’d ask Graham why he feels he can walk out on a team like Borehamwood a matter of days before the season starts without telling a soul, leaving them in the lurch, yet he knows how a manager should behave when representing a multi-million pound, Premier League Club.

He says AVB sent a message to Norwich that they could have the ball, by taking off Defoe, and Bringing on Huddlestone??????? By bringing off Defoe, and Bringing on Huddlestone?????? I would ask Graham why he couldn’t hold the job of National manager of Pakistan, yet he feels he is qualified to pass judgement on the tactical decisions of a premier league manager? and get it so wrong to boot?

Grahams says ‘Harry’s record was fantastic..’ I’d ask Graham why he isn’t managing at the top level when he thinks that 4th, 5th, 4th, a leaguecup final loss, and two FA cup semi-final drubbings was ‘Fantastic record’?

Actually that last one is too easy, even for Graham.

      True.

We’re of course referring to a bloke, who’d asked for a transfer from Spurs so he could pay off his gambling debts, has been sacked from a tiny Scottish club, Clyde, I believe, and is the equivalent to Redknapp himself for giving sound bites at the drop of a hat. Average player with a massive heart, but as a bloke..or as an ‘expert’…Meh
