Spurs need to seriously step it up tonight. For a tournament that we’re supposed to be taking seriously we could do with performances to reflect it. I was furious after the last debacle. AVB is no miracle worker. Another lacklustre performance is the result of selling good players and replacing them with average ones.
Injuries, of course, haven’t helped, but they’re par for the course. Our midfield is weaker than last season and we have the same problems up top.
Our right back has regressed beyond all recognition, but Vert and Corker are the two major plus points in the side. If we can get Kaboul fit, playing at right back and keep the rest of the defence fit, it should give us a solid back line.
Dembele and Bale should be back for Sunday, and hopefully Parker still has another season in him.

Buck stops (literally) with Levy. How many windows did it take to finally buy a striker (Ade)? The reason we haven’t had one? Strikers are expensive and Levy doesn’t like spending the club’s money. Even Sunderland realize that strikers are expensive and act accordingly. We spent the whole Summer doing a push-me-pull-me routine with Shitty over Ade and a couple of million, resulting in him having no pre-season. Pish!
