The Halloween Chalkboard For Norwich

Wotcha.

Something’s gotta give. Three games in 7 days and an physio room with standing room only this is no time to be sending out a full strength side. What I would like is a the following with a few gems on the bench if we look like we’re making a meal of it.

Clipboard Chris will himself be making a few changes: “There will be changes – how many I don’t know yet,” he said. “I have to say that where I am fortunate is that I’ve got good options and we are not the type of squad that has got a best 11 that’s far better than those outside it .”

What I find infuriating is this from the Independent: “Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is a doubt for Tottenham’s Capital One Cup game at Norwich after he missed training yesterday with a stomach bug.” Is the guy dragging his feet or is he simply unlucky? If he cannot play  -which I would like in order to get him some game time prior the Wigan game – then we should run with Dempsey.

The back four needs Jan, Billy Walker all to put their feet up. So an opportunity to ship in Naughton, Smith and Dawson. The midfield is a grim business, I’m struggling to see beyond Thudd, Jake and some rosary beads.

The Adebayor thing is now officially an issue. Despite the boss’ faith in Defoe he’s such a one dimensional option I can’t help but think that right now, ‘we’re merely getting away with it.’ Teams need some luck, for sure. But I fear we frittered a fair whack of ours in Southampton.

Provisional squad: Friedel, Lloris, Cudicini, Naughton, Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Dawson, Vertonghen, Smith, Livermore, Parrett, Dembele, Huddlestone, Dembele, Mason, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Lennon, Townsend, Bale, Falque, Dempsey, Defoe, Adebayor.

I am and have been an AVB supporter for the simple fact that he’s in charge and so many inside and outside of the club wanted him to fail.I expected him to be much more decisive than he has been.
lloris should have been declared number one,our game played to our strengths, quick and sharp, players finding space to receive the ball and I expected there to be a great squad spirit, which from the outside just doesn’t seem to exist.
I won’t start slagging yet and I know we are in 4th but I expected better. It would be nice to be looking forward to the Wigan game, but I ain’t.

    The German model?

The Fatherland is lovely – come on in!

the german model is actually clubs operating with a degree of honesty i.e. without the financial doping we have to watch the likes of citeh & the chavs do

make losses and you’re thrown out of the league

the other german models involve blonde hair and large boobs or in the alternative roaming around europe telling everyone what to do

on a recent trip to their lovely beer festival I was most disgusted that all the sladies in the clubs I found myself in had no clothes on

Bit late for sour grapes I know, but the free kick that led to their second goal was definitely on the soft side.

For me its wait and see (and meanwhile comment on what I do think is happening)
It hasnt been impressive as far as Im concerned.
Bale takes off dows a run here and there.Lennon takes off does a run here and there,Vert did the same at OT. There are good spots. But its not quality, its not entertaining and its no better than we had.
It could be,no doubt. I dont think under Harry Redknapp it could have been any better than it was.
My post back there with the bunch of points was supposed to be a bit funny.Certainly dissapointed at the result last night. We put out many players and are playing many ragged (we do have injuries back there in defence) but its still not impressive which ever way you look at it.
Now with saying that I wasnt impressed with Jols 2 5th place finishes or Harry Redknapps shtick either.

That’s fair enough…I think Doctors call this Post Carrick Syndrome…when fans only realised his contribution once he’d gone, and we were pairing Zokora and Jenas. No rhythm to our passing, running at players and becoming predictable.
“Modric: Goals and Assists!” was debated endlessly last year, and now we are seeing the difference. Modric contribution, like Carrick’s, was in the first 2 thirds of the pitch. It was everything about what made us tick last year, keeping the ball, probe, force teams back and making the right decisions to get Bale/Lennon 1 on 1 with the full back.
Dembele fills some of this void, though holds onto the ball a bit too long in my opinion. I think AVB wanted him off the striker, and Moutinho pulling the strings.
We didn’t get him, not point crying about it, but we have to be realistic in that AVB can only work with what he’s got, to say nothing of Dembele being out for the last 4 games.

      • Ronnie Wolman says:

Modric certainly kept the ball running. Not too many killer passes or scores but yes keeping the ball running was his forte.
Moutinho maybe. We are seriously lacking up top. This is the main problem.

If you look at the squad Jol was working with, I think finishing 5th twice was pretty impressive.
