442 Away Please, Sir…

Good evening.

I’ve been accused of being a Villas-Boas apologist! I guess I can ask for no fairer trial than to ask that any blogs I made demanding Arry’s head after 10 or 11 or 12 games be taken into consideration.

After a day reading and listening to many a Gooner thoughts about Aunty Wenger on tomorrow’s game after years of them achieving Champions League participation I think I’m even less in tune with so many of our two bob fans who want the boss gone if we don’t win tomorrow.

Tomorrow won’t be dull. That’s for sure. I predict a 5-5 all draw.

Provisional Gooner squad: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Santos, Wilshere, Cazorla, Arteta, Coquelin, Podolski, Walcott, Giroud, Mannone, Djourou, Jenkinson, Chamakh, Arshavin, Koscielny, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey.

Provisional lovely boys squad: Friedel, Lloris, Gomes, Cudicini, Walker, Naughton, Gallas, Caulker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Lennon, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Falque, Carroll, Mason, Livermore, Sandro, Huddlestone, Bale, Dempsey, Adebayor, Defoe.

A message to all of the AVB fan club
and “Harry haters” who frequent this board.

You have now got exactly what you so richly deserve a team of mid-table mediocrity .

When exactly are you all going to wake up &
    smell the coffee.

We have an incompetent in charge

AVB should go and go now was a message I posted
not today but three months ago.

    From the Grauniad last August:

André Villas-Boas has admitted that a fourth-placed Premier League finish is the minimum requirement from his debut season at Tottenham Hotspur. The manager is keen to stamp his personality on the club, after taking over from Harry Redknapp in the summer, although he has said that he will not push his changes too quickly.

Villas-Boas gave short shrift to the notion that it could be a season of transition; perhaps, as he is mindful that Redknapp was dismissed despite coming in fourth last May. “That’s what was proposed to me and that’s what I accepted,” he said, when asked whether he had to finish in the top four.

Today, arse passed us in the league, we are 8th, we are now 10 points behind the leaders and dropping fast, we are one of only 2 teams in the top half with a minus goal difference, if the toons beat swansea tomorrow by 3 goals we go 9th, and if fulham beat sunderland on monday we go 10th. We need injured players back urgently, it’s begining to look like more than a blip.

Top 4? I was just getting used to that question not sounding silly.

Come on the AVB (or should that be ‘players’?).

I saw this debacle coming during the Wigan defeat. So i decided to drill a fucking great hole in the kitchen wall and fit a ventilation system out of the back of the dryer instead. Best decision I’ve made so far this week.

Really hard to judge that game today.

We were the better side until Ade got sent off but for the rest of the half we were just clinging on.

AVB then changes the side and system at half time and to be fair, we did better than I was expecting.

Difficult to make those changes in the first half and you can wonder why he brought Dempsey on at all.

As I said, hard to judge it, just a shame a cracking game was spoilt by the red card.

    Question for Our Harry:

Is there a league finishing position at which you would consider AVB’s position untenable, and if so, what is it? Sorry if that’s a little facile for your taste but please humour me anyway.

First season, key players sold or injured.

Got to give him 3 years regardless, so anything top half this year will be tolerated – Levy won’t pull the trigger even if we finish 10th.

Next year will be a different story though…

I would say he should be judged at the end of the season.
By then, he should have some of BAE, Parker, Dembele, Caulker and Kaboul back and he may have a chance to buy and sell in January so the squad is more to his liking.
To be honest, I don’t know if he is a pretender or the next big thing but time will tell.

if AVB doesnt get top four he is gone.

    • jfdit says:

it’s shit or bust this season for AVB, fail to get top 4 and bale, sandro & dembele will look at us in different light – truth is they’re too good for a mid table club

levy needs to remove pressure on manager by giving him some decent signings

      • Mark says:

Exactly that’s why it’s so important we play a system that suits the players and not a system that suits AVB’s chalkboard. He’s won every game on there and can’t understand why we haven’t.

With no Euro football players will go and we are a mid table club again. You either sack the guy or splash the cash when players cost more, the January window.

i don’t know about HH but if you don’t make europe you’ll probably be in levys office
