Good evening.

The results of a rapid fire opinion poll survey thing I ran earlier today are in and here are the results. About 1000 people joined in which for a chilly Monday after a home defeat isn’t a poor show, so thank you for that.

Enjoy the rest of your night and please do observe the Firework Code – you are no use to me as a reader with charred rocket sticks protruding from where your eyeballs used to be.

I’d like to offer a different view…. I was at the game. The people around me that booed weren’t booing the fact that Defoe was being sub’ed they were booing his performance. At the end of the game they weren’t booing the manager they were booing a piss poor perfor… (I went to type performance but it would be insulting to the word to try to pass the way our team played off as a performance) showing by our team of fully paid “professional” (ha what a laugh) people (can’t even call them players because they didn’t play).
Obviously I can’t speak for all the fans (not fair to call the supporters really) but if most people think Defoe deserved to get sent off then I think it is fair to assume they were booing the player and NOT the manager.

Whie I agree with most of what you said HH, I would have taken off Dempsey instead of Defoe. Defoe is our leading scorer and looks much livelier / fitter than Depsey. The settling in process for Dempsey has been a bit so slow….I have to keep reminding myself that he scored 20 + last season.

      Spot on Trini.

What was the attraction in keeping Dempsey on? JD can be a selfish and infuriating little bugger but he has played with Ade a few times and has scored more than Dempsey this season.

I am unsure what Dempsey is meant to be doing. He might have scored 20+ goals last term but he’s not an out and out striker. He does not appear very creative and he certainly ain’t Scott Parker in the tackle. I can only judge him on what he’s done for us but if someone else has seen something I haven’t please enlighten me.

He does an excellent impression of Charlie Chaplin.

Said a while back, but will reserve some judgement on Dumpsey for when he’s playing behind Adebayor. Just as he isn’t likely to be much use to Defoe, Defoe most certainly isn’t going to help him out much.

Actually, he did play behind Ade the other day. It wasn’t very good. But still, that’s his position and we’ve rarely seen him there for one reason or another.

    • It was just one of those days, we dominated without making and taking chances and we had more than them, although they had a little more possession.

      13 shots to 7
10 on target to their 4
      9 Corners to their 3

For me there is a problem with midfield, without an offensive creative midfielder we struggle.

Huddlestone is the current solution,it doesent work for me because he lies to deep, he has a great pass but doesent back our attacks enough.

Dempsey has already won me over with the goal against Manu but he looks out of position for me.

When fit this is my best midfield and team.

      Walker-Kaboul-Vertongen-Ekotto

      Bale-Dembele, Sandro, Sigurdson-Lennon

No worries id get my missus to read out the post’s.

  • Matt says:

Harry, how was Demspey better? His job playing behind the lone striker is to supply the lone striker with the ball. Defoe was subbed for not doing anything as Dempsey was (again) shit

    • onedavemackay says:

When Ade and JD play together JD tends to hang around the penalty area while Manu goes walkabouts and it seems to work most of the time.

      • Jamie says:

At home in the short term, this is probably the answer. Huddlestone and Sandro in the middle. Siggurdson for Huddlestone 2nd half. High tempo and go for it.

Away at City and the Emirates we’ll get crucified – as we did last season….Emirates…Wembley…erghhh….

        • LLL says:

I think if we’re all honest we are all terrified of the prospect of going to Eastlands and then the Emirates. I’ve seen this run of fixtures looming like a big, bulging cloud for a while.

The one positive is that neither side are looking convincing at the moment either. But still…

As a previous poster said we are in fifth how the hell are we there. But we are
The big test for us is if we can hang on in there over the next couple of difficult away games i think we will be ok.
Surely bae and parker will be back by then possible dembele.
My only gripe is i like to see two up front at home.
    Sing up tottenham
