Andy Carroll 100% Not Signing For Spurs In January

Good morning,

Unless I’ve got this wildly wrong today’s Andy Carroll piece in the Daily Mail is er… made up.

FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players, Chapter III: Registration of Players, Article 5.3 stated:

Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.

Andy Carroll came on in the 83rd minute for Borini in the Liverpool vs Manchester City game on the 26th of August. So if we did buy him it would be shall we say, an ambitious tactic to put it mildly.

Wait a minute..I thought he got sent off in the 82nd minute

  • Ronnie Wolman says:

I understand the Daily Mail has retracted the statement and is now touting Berba to come back.He was stepping on the field for United in the 58th minute of the game with Villa last year but never quite made it. Wait sorry it wasn’t Berba it was Jermaine Jenas, who has yet to play a game for anybody in the last 5 years

  • Astro Spur says:

It’s mostly crap because we probably won’t be buying anyone this Jan. We’ve gone years not strengthening in the striker department(except Ade) when even Mr. magoo could see the lack of options up front, so why start now?

  • niyido37 says:

as usual the daily mail making more ***** up about spurs

  • Ronnie Wolman says:

The fact is,if we could but Llorente for three and a half quid,we would.Don’t think Levy would rush though. It would be Jan 31st at midnite when we would find out whether we actually secured him.
Then we would have to think about him sitting on the bench until Ade or Defoe got injured
Anyone that has to L’s to kick off their name…
