Good evening.

The results of a rapid fire opinion poll survey thing I ran earlier today are in and here are the results. About 1000 people joined in which for a chilly Monday after a home defeat isn’t a poor show, so thank you for that.

Enjoy the rest of your night and please do observe the Firework Code – you are no use to me as a reader with charred rocket sticks protruding from where your eyeballs used to be.

It was predicted by many of us, yes we saw it coming and thurs night could be no better unless we get a big reaction from whats left of the team. Of course we will raise our game against City and the Arse, hell even Ramos’s team stepped up against the gooners but I’m really getting bored with this whining now, can we move on?

This whole debate is maddening because no one has all the right on his side. Has AVB been hampered by a rash of serious injuries? Who could say no?

Has AVB suffered from the loss of Modders and the inability to sign Moutinho and the precipitous sale of VdV? Clearly yes.

Has AVB been pigheaded? Yes. Not starting Lloris regularly, sticking with the 4/2/3/1, and going defensive too early have all been shortsighted.

It is a muddled picture. AVB isnt perfect, but the situation is really terrible. AVB didn’t create most of the problems but he hasn’t shown genius in solving them.

I would say unfair to judge him until we see how he works with a starting XI worthy of the name

Summed up well, but the point is a Premiership manager destined for success just wouldn’t have continually made those very basic errors. I’m pretty sure the job description didn’t include for a 3 year apprenticeship and an NVQ level 2 in scribbling bullshit on a poundstretcher pad….

Fascinating about Ohio on the news. It appears that whichever candidate wins Ohio’s 18 Electoral College votes usually wins the US election.

I agree with that Cinci, and I’ve not ignored the injuries, just attempted to move away from fixating on them – not successfully as a lot of people don’t like the questions this poses about AVB himself.

As for judging him once he gets his first choice 11, well, sure. And he does have some time. Our league position is not currently catastrophic after all. But every manager has to deal with injury issues from time to time and they should also be judged on how they react to what are really rather normal day to day obstacles of the job. We have had injuries but we haven’t exactly had a tough start to the season, fixture wise, and I’m 100% positive that the teams we’ve fielded against Wigan, Norwich (both times), West Brom, Maribor, Panathinaikos all cost 2 – 10 times that of the opposition.
