Good morning,

Unless I’ve got this wildly wrong today’s Andy Carroll piece in the Daily Mail is er… made up.

FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players, Chapter III: Registration of Players, Article 5.3 stated:

Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.

Andy Carroll came on in the 83rd minute for Borini in the Liverpool vs Manchester City game on the 26th of August. So if we did buy him it would be shall we say, an ambitious tactic to put it mildly.

This may well be true but we need a better option up front. Tottenham will never buy or pay the kind of money needed to capture a Tevez type of player.
So we need the kind of player who can cause havoc in the opposition back four with his aggresive style of play, Carol is one of these and if he increased his movement and our midfield moved up five yards (or if we started playing five yards further up as a team) maybe he could be the answer to our lack of goalscoring.

Dembele is a worry,Fulham sold very quickly,he has a repeat of a long standing injury that we did not detect, needs a deep scan to find,no return date, now we payed over 15 mil with no other team interested. The hip is a major area for an athlete to have an injury.Lets hope we were not sold a pup.

Fulham didn’t have a choice in the sale, we met his buyout clause and he was willing to come. I don’t think there was any knowingly “selling a pup” on Fulham’s part, in fact Martin Jol was a bit pissed that he lost his best player with little time to replace him.

Sorry Phil you’re wrong on both accounts-15m clause meant only personal terms needed to be agreed and the reason it was a cash deal was to speed the deal up even quicker as United were hovering I understand.

Was that a Daily Fail report or inside info(the manure thing) :finn:

If it was I wouldn’t have mentioned it-no, it was widely muted that Utd were looking at both him and Kagawa for their ageing midfielders..which would’ve been one heck of middle

Carroll or Dempsey? That’s a no-brainer in my book.

  • a_felching says:

Get him in, we can then play the long ball game :finn:

    It’s too late now…

We should have bought him from Toon back in 2011 when he was only £35m.

Why won’t Levy ever open the chequebook for the players we so obviously need!? He doesn’t know anything, he only cares about money!
