Good morning,

Unless I’ve got this wildly wrong today’s Andy Carroll piece in the Daily Mail is er… made up.

FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players, Chapter III: Registration of Players, Article 5.3 stated:

Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.

Andy Carroll came on in the 83rd minute for Borini in the Liverpool vs Manchester City game on the 26th of August. So if we did buy him it would be shall we say, an ambitious tactic to put it mildly.

Ah. So now the players are rubbish. Shoot me now. End it. Please.

    • Alspur says:

…hold up, I thought it was the manager wot woz rubbish…

…wait on… oh, my head hurts: it’s the Chairman wot is rubbish, isn’t it?

      It’s so confusing being a Spurs fan…

cheap shot harry! A constructive contribution to your own thread, not!

The players are good enough! Remember?? they’re good enough to get top 4 who ever is in charge, apparently. But all players need the hair dryer treatment from time to time.

I expected a response on Saturday in the 2nd half….however it seemed like the only use the hair dryer got at the weekend was AVB drying his rain soaked beard at HT.

Why very good players looked uninspired and lazy is unrelated to tactics, its motivation. Whether the tactics were right or wrong is another issue. altogether.

      • StrappingYoungLad says:

        You should be a tactician!

“Boss how do we turn this around at half time?”
“give em’ the hair dryer… works for fergie, right?”

And they later went on to conquer the world all thanks to shouting at the players

        Eat ya heart out Mourinho

        • Devonshirespur says:

AGAIN …..tactics and motivation are 2 different things.

My biggest issue (as a person who travels 140 miles round trip to go to games) was the apparent lack of desire shown by our players.

Every team has a bad day, whether it just doesn’t click, whether its the tactics or whether the opposition are simply better. Total effort and the desire to win is the minimum requirement.

Players need motivating from time to time – I care not whether AVB shouts at them all or hugs them all. Motivation is a key part of being a manager esp. through a long season

        • BrisbaneSpur says:

Its got to be more effective than AVB’s A5 pad and a biro!

        • TMWNN says:

Devonshire, don’t you know, your effort is irrelevant. It’s the true fans who watch on the telly worldwide without giving, or have never given, a penny to the club, they are more important than you. Apparently.

        • Frontwheel 2 says:

I feel important,I’ve got my Spurs slippers on,they don’t come cheap,I can tell ya

    • Astro Spur says:

So let me get this straight Harry, our terrible form is nobody’s fault………. :-|

      • LLL says:

That’s about the size of it. It’s just one of those things. Ho-hum.

      • BrisbaneSpur says:

Yes apparantly AVB footballing nouse is directly related to players health stats….

I say get in Lance Armstrings medical team and lets win the league!

        • Billy Legit says:

What we need is a ‘lucky’ manager. Someone with contacts in high places. A person who can get away with some of the most ludicrous acts/tactics imagenable- without even a peep from those scumbag hacks in the mainstream corporate media. Gents, i give you Lord McAlpine!

    • BrisbaneSpur says:

HH myself and LLL combined funds to arrange ‘a contract’. :shocked2:

Always happy to help you HH! :daumen:

  • Alspur says:

    Andy Carroll highlight reel…

(and I’m going to keep farking posting it, until someone makes a funny face or a thumbs up, so “nerrrr”…)

    :)

  • Jol 5:5 says:

Phew – glad to hear that we can’t get Big Andy in January. Straight in then for Grant Holt I reckon.

  • Billy Legit says:

Never fear folks, i have it on good authority that the Mighty Sperz are going to be buying an up and coming superstar-to-be from Crystal Palace in January. This kid is supposed to be the nuts and goes by the name of John Bostock………..uh oh!

    • essexian76 says:

If it was Bostick he may have improved Ade’s first touch

      • Billy Legit says:

That ship sailed a long long long time ago………..

        • BrisbaneSpur says:

Thought Bostock was an urban myth that we used to scare our kids as to what would happen if we were lazy and crap at what we did?

He was really real? Really?

        • Billy Legit says:

          ‘fraid so, old chap!

Is Prisoner Cell Block H still running in your neck of the woods?

        • BrisbaneSpur says:

Not since Dame Edna Everage had that threesome with Croc Dundee and Skippy….

Oh, now you menion it I think it was on late one evening on UKTV believe it or not some weeks back.

Aussie TV has absolutely no defence what so ever. Its terrible…

        • Billy Legit says:

Heartbreak High was alright when it started out.
          Sh*t title though!

  • Hartley says:

That Schone (number 20) is a great little player for Ajax, very, very similar to Modric……
