Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete a double raid on Manchester City after agreeing personal terms with Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush.
The north London club had already secured a deal for Savinho, and now a second City departure looks increasingly certain before the summer window closes.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, writing: “Tottenham also confident to get Omar Marmoush deal done after Savinho deal agreed tonight. Negotiations at advanced stages for the Egyptian forward. Personal terms agreed earlier this week and THFC confident.”
Sky Sport Germany have also reported that Marmoush has reached a verbal agreement with Spurs to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side this summer.
The German outlet states that negotiations between Tottenham and Manchester City are expected to be concluded soon, with a rapid transfer on the cards “unless something extraordinary happens.”
The transfer is understood to be valued at close to £70 million plus add-ons, well above the £60 million City paid Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Marmoush in January 2025.
Manchester City are prepared to sanction his departure, though sources indicate the club want to recover at least the £60 million they originally spent to bring him to the Etihad.
The 27-year-old striker is understood to be keen on leaving in search of regular first-team football, having found opportunities limited in the central role he prefers at City.
New City head coach Enzo Maresca is reported to be content keeping Marmoush at the club, but the forward has been informed he would not be first choice in his favoured central position.
Marmoush began his senior career with Egypt’s Wadi Degla SC in 2016 before moving to Germany with VfL Wolfsburg in 2017, developing through loan spells at FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart.
His career took a significant turn when he joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in 2023, scoring 17 goals in his debut season and adding 15 more in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign.
That stunning form persuaded Manchester City to spend €70 million to bring him to England in January 2025, making him one of the most high-profile winter signings of that transfer window.
De Zerbi’s side have now shifted focus to attacking reinforcements after earlier business concentrated on defensive and midfield additions during this window.
With Savinho already confirmed and Marmoush expected to follow imminently, Tottenham look set to significantly strengthen their forward options heading into the new season.
