Bale was good when he first landed. He then went right off the boil and was even being referred to as a jinx at one stage. But this season he’s been close to continuously superb. Athletic, determined and demonstrating some real class.

Just had a mate from work in my office at work who is a Liverpool fan, and we were discussing the saga in the courts etc, and he actually broke down in tears. I felt a mixture of sadness that his club had been reduced to a laughing stock, relief that ours is well run, whilst trying to fight the urge to piss my pants laughing! I’m such a good friend. ;o)
