Quite a kerfuffle, then.

The first half was certainly more watchable than the second. But the whole gig was undermined by a referee that I predict if you  call him in a years time you’ll hear, ‘Hi Dominoes, Marc speaking…’ on the other end of the phone.

Ratings then…

Gomes 6 Little to do

A&E 8 As good as it gets. Nice work, fella.

Begbie 6 Attacking, but his passing was ‘iffy’.

Gallas 5 Couple of decent moves, but looks a bit pants.

Kaboul 8 Defensively – extremely good stuff.

Azza Blud 7 Played very deep and his tracking back was often immense.

Sarge 5 Largely the victim of a rather retarded Ref.

Modders 8 Not a luxury player, Smith you tool…

Bale 8 Wot No Hattrick? Bale Out!

VdV 8 Class act.

Crouch 5 Achieved little. A poor Ref, but he failed to move on from that fact.

Sandro 6 …but should almost certainly command 7’s and 8’s in future.

Pav 4 Not a dig. I love the chap, but he produced schnichts.

Sandra 6! what a moral outrage – you have the corss-dressing wife of Azza redknapp without her stilettoes and you get her a 6 – strewth – what more do you want!

Another game full of frustration. But that’s enough about my sex life.

We desperately need a world class striker in the January window. Crouch is infuriating. His first thought every touch is to turn and appeal to the referee. I just don’t see what he brings to the team other than winning the occasional ball in the air. For someone who is 6′ 7″, he is actually poor in the air. He rarely gets more that 2′ off the ground and actually ducks his head regularly when trying to win the ball. I would rather have PSB playing than Crouch.

Gomes – 7. No chance with the free kick.
BAE – 7.5. Excellent again today, although does take one or two chances in and around the box.
Begbie – 6.5. Deserves his run in the side, needs to improve his distribution.
Billy G – 6. Looked tired and lacking the match fitness that we’re told he is lacking, but I’m prepared to forgive him his past.
Kaboul – 8. Impressive, solid performance. This boy is now showing promise. More of the same please.
Lennon – 7.5. Very lively first half at both ends.
Sarge – 6. Caused his own problems with the early booking.
Modders – 8.5. You the man. Let him keep the armband.
Bale – 7. Double teamed every time he got the ball. Midweek efforts did seem to have an effect as the game wore on.
VDV – 7. Quieter than normal but still oozing class.
    Crouch – 8.5, 8.0, 9.0, 7.5, 8.0. Should be awarded Tom Daley’s Commonwealth gold for falling over.
Sandra – 7.5. Showing real promise. Good energy levels and always looking to receive the ball.
    Pav – 6. No impact.

Not sure Crouch knew much about the “assist”, the cross from Hutton seemed to bounce off him into VDV’s path!

Bigchiv & Fatfish, spot on!! Most of his so called “assists” weren’t actually planned “assists”. He always miss-timed his headers and the ball just hit him in the head. Harry is the idiot and Crouch is his “religion”.

You mean to say that he’s going to be promoted?

  • TMWNA says:

ODM – Have you got the stats for league games?

I’m not a Pav fan, I don’t believe he’s good enough for the PL, but I’d still rather Redknapp started with him than the beanpole.

Gomes – not worth grading him

    Hutton – 6

    Gallas – 6

    Kaboul – 7

    BAE – 7

    Lennon – 6

    Palacios – 6

    Modric – 7

    Vdv – 7

    Bale – 7

    Crouch – 3

    Sandro – 7

    Pav – 5

137 goals in 288 league games for all 4 clubs he has played for, although only 13 from 52 league games for us.

    • onedavemackay says:

Pav 12 goals in 51 Prem games
Crouch 8 goals in 46 Prem games

However, Pav scored something like 9 in 14 at the end of last season when he had a run in the team. It’s no secret that strikers need to play regularly to keep scoring just look at Tevez now he’s a fixture at City. Same goes for Rooney last season when he was first choice for United he racked up 34 goals.

Incidentally, over his club career, Pav has a better goal to games ratio than Defoe
