Dances With Scones is out for 3 months.

This is what we in the trade refer to the opposite of good news. Had it not been for Super Romancrazypavinchenko’s singlemindedness in wanting to play against Blackburn, we would have had 11 players on the sick list.

Now Tommy’s bought it, we can at last field a full side against any other treatment table XI the world can throw at us.

At worst, this derby looks set to be a re-run of the wretched abomination no good rubbish Carling Cup fiasco.

Somebody cheer me up. Please…

We be nice to see JD have a little warm-up and 20 mins… Bag the winner… Slide to the Away end and NOT pull anything… You know, that sort of thing.

If you look carefully at my Gravadlaxtar, I’m holding my breath.

We had terrible injury problems during the run in last season. BAEs injury meant Bale got a run. Defoe being injured gave Pav a chance. Lennon out, Bentley in. Modric out at the beginning of last year, Kranjcar comes in and is the top scoring midfielder. I remember thinking we had no chance against Ar5e and Chelsea last season once Palacios got suspended, cue Modric and Hudds becoming one of the best midfield partnerships in the Prem and tearing them a new one.

We need our reserve central midfielders to step up. That means Jenas, Palacios, Sandro and maybe OHara.

Put Jen*s in the side, just so that he can have his ‘Once every season’ 70-Yd run up the pitch to put the opener in off the post with his shin.

    Gooo-on, JJ!!!!! Get IN!
