‘Sold As Seen, Mate’ – Arry Redschnapps

PSB is officially on the forecourt. In between the Vauxhall Verruca and the Datsun Dilemma.

Arry has announced that a loan is out and they are simply waiting for the best offer to come. Mooted names are the Vancouver Hubcaps, Aston Villa and Colchester United.

The highest bid? That’s cold. Colder than a Cumbrian pensioner. But if this doesn’t reflect how low Keane’s stock has fallen, how distant his glorious era in the Lilywhite shirt now is, nothing else will.

So, Birmingham Away then.

Birmingham have dished up some unedifying stuff this season and the Tottingham of old would have been sorely tempted to wander up to St Andrews, play head tennis for a bit and come home clutching either a point or a letter from their mum explaining it was ‘a bit cold’ or Birmingham are ‘a tough side to break down’.

So let’s hope that we are the ones that are tough to break down and we get into them from the off playing something as close as we can muster to push and run.

Oh and if there’s a penalty, Modders takes it.

frontline cost us 2 points today,

hope levy gets the cheque book out in jan,we could sell about 5/6 players

    go get torres levy :finn:

    • Carlos Kickaball says:

There are many strikers I would have in front of crouch. Torres definitely fits the bill, as does Dzeko, Fabiano (although will will not get our monies worth due to age and a high transfer fee)or even Carroll, but quite frankly I would rather have Dave Kitson up front than the Camel.

      • Kojac says:

i think we are better off buying from the prem,we haven’t got time to bed in some foreigner unless we are buying an eto or someone of that ilk, which is unlikely

        adeybayor,torres,carroll any other suggestions

i’ll email levy with the list

        • Carlos Kickaball says:

Realistically, Citeh won’t sell us Adebayor for money, sexual favours or a plush pad in the afterlife. Torres maybe for about £40-50M which is out of our price range.

We may possibly get Carroll for £20m odd. If we sold Pav, Keane, Kranc, and Bentley (I would personally sell Crouch for whatever change Steve Bruce has in his pocket, but I doubt Harry feels the same) we could raise £25m. Buy Carroll and a Left back as competition for BAE.

        • Kojac says:

yes i think we need a left back too

  • dutchman says:

Game of two halves, again..Strikers are pants despite dominating games..Still no adebayor twmnnnn..?

    • Carlos Kickaball says:

I would take Adebayor like a shot. Citeh have clipped his wings somewhat and he hates Arsenal. I think he would be an excellent signing. He just wants to be loved somewhere!

    • TMWNN says:

Never. He is rotten to the core.

    • Kojac says:

i said no to adebayor the other day but i’ll change my mind now,any change will do,i’ll take anything on offer

we’ve played 16 games and our strikers have scored 5 goals, pav has got 4 of them

i surprised we don’t hear anything about tis situation from our management, seems like a major problem to me

      • seattlespursguy says:

I think Harry knows we aren’t good enough up front but he isn’t going to slate any of them, which could lower their confidence and make things worse

        • Kojac says:

it can’t get worse, they are big boys,i’d keep defoe and sell the others to pay for something else along with whoever else who doesn’t play if we need the cash,i’ve lost patience with out strikers now,i think we’ve been most understanding

does anyone else get this duplicate message sh*t,this site is worse than our strikers

        • Ned says:

ssg take your point but I think Harry should say something more than he has.

I know he has dropped some heavy hints and he that he cannot go slating the players but our defenders have the same goal tally as our strikers so it is no secret we have a problem there.

      • Carlos Kickaball says:

Because he paid £37 million for them! The only one he didn’t buy is the one who is scoring!

Personally I think Defoe is ok. He is a bit rusty but he will be fine. Needs to bloody pass it though.

Pav is lazy but does score.

Crouch isn’t lazy but looks like a drunk on stilts, and Keane is finished at the ripe old age of 30, unless we buy back Berbatov.

We need a footballing number 9, or we learn to play like Barcelona (which isn’t as crazy as it sounds, but we would need to learn not to keep lumping it up to Crouch.

Finally Crouch could grow a footballing brain as well. Look at Zigic; he targeted BAE because he was the smallest player in our back line, and they played diagonal balls to him. He then made a USEFUL contact with it and powered the header cross the box. Crouch possesses neither the forethought, tactical nous or ability to connect strongly with a header to accomplish this.

Hence I suggest we play Defoe upfront on his own and at least try to play like Barcelona. Small triangles and quick passing, sucking in their defence – then breaking fast with Bale Lennon and Defoe.

        • TMWNN says:

Redknapp will never have the team playing like that.

He’s insistent on playing the ball in from the wings. When you have two players with the pace of Bale and Lennon, I can’t say I blame him. Problem is is that it’s pointless unless you have someone who get on the end of crosses and direct them into the net.

        • jfdit says:

actually Levy bought PSB or CPNSB as he’s soon to be known as, ‘arry didn’t want to sign him. He’s guilty as charged on the LSOP and defoe.

Adabuyawhore won’t be landing at the lane I hope, asked a couple of goon season ticket holders what they thought of him – lazy (unt who is always offside was the most polite response.
Tevez would be a better bet but can’t see citeh selling anyone to us.

our failure to land a top drawer striker in the summer will stop us progressing, very short sighted by Levy, he should of cleared the decks of the deadwood and gone for it with a big player

        • UnkleKev says:

Until I see evidence to the contrary I’m convinced a Defoe/Van der Vaart partnership can work well for us.

  • dermo says:

striker and lack of good subs cost us big-time today.crouch as most know is utterly hopless, defoe is still a loads of goals world class striker for 1 game and useless for the next 6,just no consistency and will never be one of the top strikers in the league.harry was cronic aswell today, back to his best.when the brum started to get a handle on the games possesion one of the strikers should have gone for a holding mid and just kill off the game, yet again harry’s inadequacies cost us more points, tut tut.but hey,we are billy big balls spurs who dont believe in closing out a game and always opt for playing on a knife edge, weehee, are’nt we super.

    • Kojac says:

well i’m not going to get stuck into redknapp, like some people said at the beginning of the season if we bought a couple of proper strikers we would most likely be challenging,if we had one today we probably would have got 3 points,

i said the strikers have a chance to show us what they are made of until jan as we didn’t buy anyone, they haven’t turned up in the league

we have 2 of the best widemen in the league, modric, thudd, vdv and no one to finish it off :cwy:

      • Ned says:

Agreed. If our strikers were even half as good as the midfield we would be top of the table imo. Harry said it himself post match that one goal is not enough and we made enough chances to be 2 or 3 up at half time but didn’t take them. We should have seen it coming in the summer and are suffering the consequences now. If we hold in there til January then maybe we can fix it but I would not be surprised if the strikers were overlooked again. Keane is off but maybe we will just call Gio our 4th striker and buy no one like we did in the summer.

  • TMWNN says:

It’s not a bad result, but you can’t help feeling pissed off with the front line.

City go to the pikeys next week and manure take on the scum. I don’t see us getting any more than a point at the blue scum which will probably see us further behind City.

Another opportunity goes a begging due to not buying in the summer. The irony is, would pointy be any worse than the berks that played today?

    • Kojac says:

its not a bad result and we had the game in the bag,the big disappointment is we couldn’t stay with the top 4,when really we should be in the mix if our strikers actually scored in games, which they don’t

      • jfdit says:

I keep seeing other team’s strikers like eto’o & torres and realise the next step up in quality for us is going to cost bundles unless we pull off a remarkable transfer coup.

The big question is how much does levy want to compete with the teams above us. Fail to compete and the likes of bale & vdv will be off to the teams we’re trying to beat.

        Chicken & egg situation?

    • Carlos Kickaball says:

Nope, they are all as bad as each other. We may as well have subbed Defoe with someone from the youth team. Pav was anonymous. He will pop up and score occasionally, which is more than the rest of them, but he adds nothing else. We really need a striker urgently. Someone who puts away half chances. A striker who is decent in the air would have had at least 2 today.

  • why says:

    Defoe is shit!!!!

    • Carlos Kickaball says:

He’s not though is he. He’s actually very good.

I would like to see hoe good you are after a 2 month lay off.
