‘Sold As Seen, Mate’ – Arry Redschnapps

PSB is officially on the forecourt. In between the Vauxhall Verruca and the Datsun Dilemma.

Arry has announced that a loan is out and they are simply waiting for the best offer to come. Mooted names are the Vancouver Hubcaps, Aston Villa and Colchester United.

The highest bid? That’s cold. Colder than a Cumbrian pensioner. But if this doesn’t reflect how low Keane’s stock has fallen, how distant his glorious era in the Lilywhite shirt now is, nothing else will.

So, Birmingham Away then.

Birmingham have dished up some unedifying stuff this season and the Tottingham of old would have been sorely tempted to wander up to St Andrews, play head tennis for a bit and come home clutching either a point or a letter from their mum explaining it was ‘a bit cold’ or Birmingham are ‘a tough side to break down’.

So let’s hope that we are the ones that are tough to break down and we get into them from the off playing something as close as we can muster to push and run.

Oh and if there’s a penalty, Modders takes it.

Honestly think JD is the one who will come allright in the end, but wasted loads today.. rest of strikers r just pants..capital P..

A draw away at Brum is not normally a bad result BUT we should have won comfortably by half time. A win is what we needed to keep the momentum going and to post the message that we are not just top 4 contenders but genuine title possibilities. Still think we will get top 4 but the bottom line is that we need a couple of new strikers. PSB is obviously not good enough at the level we have moved up to since his Liverpool excursion. Crouch is a useful Plan B. Pav is so
inconsistent and unfortunately Defoe needs time to get back to his very best. The problem as usual is that we need to offload the obvious suspects but in the current market nobody will offer anything like the money the Board is looking for. Harry knows what we need , he has been in the game long enough to spot it a mile away. The difficulty is doing deals at the right price, albeit for us it might be too late to challenge for the title this season because we have lost at least 8 points(City, Wet Spam and Today) due to poor finishing. It is a real pity because we create so much and no other teams are pulling up any trees. The more you look at it the more attractive a deal for Adebayor might become. I reluctantly think that he is the best option but will City do any deal with a main rival? If not it leaves as options…Suarez untried, Forlan too old 31, Fabiano too old 29 and snubbed us 3 times at least, Benzema not now that Higuain is injured, Carroll ……….????????? young, English, expensive but well why not if we can offload some surplus. Whatever happens we need more cutting edge as we have all been saying for ages. Come on Daniel get the deals done, we will have to take hits on offloading PSB, Bentley, O`Hara, Gio, possibly Crouch or Pav and Wilson. We are on the cusp of something very special, dare I say it very close to emulating the very team that made me a Spur in the first place, the 60/61 team. We really are that close. If we ever want to win titles then NOW is the time, it might be the only time because if we do not fulfill the potential of Bale, Modric, Lennon, Thud, Daws, they will eventually go elsewhere. COYS

Blimey, cannot believe that I forgot VdV in the list of those we could end up losing if we do not get more cutting edge. But he will no doubt look elsewhere if we cannot win things. Bottom line is that we MUST get at least one finisher on board in Jan, hopefully two….Adebayor and or Carroll,to join Defoe and VdV that is a fantastic prospect. Then we just need left back/left side cover, and a title tilt would be on.

Good thinking..Adebayor def makes the most sense..
It’s a real pity to have a midfield which is as good as any team, and there’s nobody home to finish things off..time and time again..

we’re missing big tom, the cm partnership of modders and palacios was ok, but he keeps the ball ticking over where as with the sarge he’s always liable to give it away. but we most definitely need a world class CF, cmon Levy, get yer cheque book out!

Rafa makes our strikers so much better by adding his own unique brand of mayhem to the opposing penalty area. Without him, Crouch and Pav are too easily canceled out. Defoe’s a bit better, but not up to full speed yet. Hopefully Rafa is only out a couple more games.

Considering the endless injuries we have had this season, the ever changing defensive line-up, the fact we have never put our strongest team out, the inability to keep a clean sheet and take a fraction of the chances we create, the fact we are still in the mix is nothing short of miraculous.
Hopefully the injuries will sort themselves out and it is possible VDV and Defoe will give us the cutting edge we need, if we can get them both fit.
A superstar finisher would be nice but who ?
Don’t think we are far away from ripping up trees but Januarys incomings and outgoings could make or break our season. Got to be quality rather than quantity.
Believe the South African CB Khumalo joins in January which will provide more cover.
Come on Harry this could be our big chance.
