Missing Person – Please Help – Small Reward

Good morning. Now pay attention.

The man we are looking for is one Alan Longsocks Hutton, street name Generalissmo Franco Begbie . When standing up he he is 6’1″. Early indicators are that he is not injured in the conventional sense. There is no record of him on Physioroom.com or indeed Tottenham’s official site (although they have a splendedt interview with our new goalkeeper, Patrick Jennings).

Recent sightings include an audition for Celebrity Come Dancing at Craven Cottage and a bit part in Scotland vs Someone Else, the motion picture.

‘Franco’ is believed to be still in the London area and extreme caution is advised if approached. Scientists are still grappling to explain how a young man from Penilee in Glasgow when showered weekly in tens of thousands of pounds and a near infinite variety of the capital’s iniquitous dens and juicers could become distracted.

When this impressionable young man arrived in N17 in 2008 with nothing but a thin film of sweat on his forehead and a pocket full of Stay Plus, his enthusiasm was nearly unstoppable, he told Mr Levy, ‘…pleasure. It’s like, my pleasure in other people’s leisure.’

Ordinarily nobody would be that concerned but after the attempted murder of Charlie on Tuesday night our need for a right back has suddenly become urgent. This blog is hereby offering the cash sum of 72 new pence for his safe return.

Pathetic weak as piss UEFA won’t look at the Flamini challenge as He’s an ex-gooner It was ‘dealt with’ on the pitch by the ref. Meanwhile, Charlie could be out until at least March.

Maybe Begbie has popped round to young Matthieu’s place to make sure that he is incapacitated at the bottom of a swimming pool with a rock for a similar length of time?

Can’t stand that rule, and have never understood how it can be understood from a principled point of view. I think it might be simply to reduce the number of reviews that the FA’s have to perform.

Yes, it was dealt with on the pitch. INCORRECTLY. That is the whole point of a review, to correct a mistake. Why a mistake of omission is more worthy of review than mistaken judgement is beyond me.

Rino is most likely going to be suspended for a few games, having taken leave of his brain for the last 30 minutes of the game. Of course he deserves a reprimand for head-butting a coach (never seen that before in my life). Still, Flamini was a lot closer to ending a career than Gattuso was*. That’s FIFA justice for you.

*Ok, so there was a slight risk of Joe ending Rino’s carrer (and it’s hard to coach from prison, so his own as well).

It’s amazing to think that they view that tackle as serious an offence as taking your shirt off to celebrate a goal, or running to the crowd if you score the winner in the last minute.

The rule is not about ensuring the right thing is done, it’s to cover up what a shambles refereeing is throughout world football. If they had to review every incompetent performance, they’d have to sit the panel 24hrs a day, 7 days a week just to keep up.

Simple way of dealing with it would be to say that any player that directly causes another’s injury should remain out for the same amount of time as the injured player. You’d soon see players being a bit more careful about two-footed tackles.

He has been dropped, at fault for Coloccinis goals against Newcastle and then a week later a stupid tackle for a penalty against Fulham.

He was playing well but completely distrupts the team formation by abandoning his position at full back.

He should be used against teams like Wolves, Wigan, Blackpool etc, teams who we need to get at.

But in europe the man shouldnt even be near the squad as hes a liability.

BTW when is Benzema making his debut, bit premature with that post during January wasnt you. Best to stick to your crap riddles and leave the ITK info to spurs community

The “stupid” penalty tackle against Fulham saved a certain goal. It kills me that he is the target of the criticism and not Dawson who made the mistake. The mistake Hutton made against Newcastle is exactly the same that Dawson made marking Gyan last week, but again only Hutton is being singled out.

I am not a big Hutton supporter at all, but he started to win me over finally with his superb performance against Manure. Just like BAE, I am convinced he has the talent to play against the big boys, I just wonder about his desire to be here and whether he has the work ethic or even cares enough to perform at the highest level every week.

It’s one of those things… Begbie get’s a run and everyone wants Charlie (Errr…That didn’t sound right), then Charlie gets a run everyone says he’s too slow, why won’t Harry play Begbie. You can please some of the people some of the time etc…

For my part, I think Charlie is the better player defensively and fits in with Modders. Lennon likes him as well as he knows where he is all the time and rarely gets beyond the ball. Begbie freaks Lennon a little as he always wants to overlap but doesn’t have the pace of a Walker/BAE to get back from his William Wallace style forays to the dead ball line.

Begbie does put the fear of god up the opposing full-back for exactly that reason though. They don’t like to see him running at them from deep and they’re afraid to push forward for fear of him catching them out of position.

Neither of them are perfect but Charlie shades it just for his defensive reading of the game.

        • Kluffah Yid says:

we’ve enough goin on up top without Begbie needing to give us defensive frailties…

          long live Charlie :)

I have you and unkle kev spot on

        • Toddspur says:

This frickin site. My complimentary comment about astro and unc kev being spot on with their assessment of said player is not really portrayed in whom i actually responded to; sheesh

Begbie and Charlie are worlds apart but useful in given circumstances. Leave walker at Villa. Next season he will be a major squad player.

oh yeah, and SC was so right on the money with its ITK in January wasn’t it? almost as accurate as they were in August, VDV anyone? SC ITK? what a load of bollox! I read all those pathetic ITK posts not one turned out to be true…as usual.
HH maybe no ITK but his track record compares well with all you other chancers at SC you twat ;P

        • Astromesmo says:

That Phantom stuff makes me weep with laughter… It’s like someone that never grew up after getting one of those plastic Special Agent kits from Woolworth’s in the 70’s.

“Something massive happening. Can’t say more… Guards are coming & I’m tucked down the back of the radiator with my home made morse code kit”

Haven’t you heard of a f***ing text message you sad plum.

    • david says:

If you read the ITK pages this January you would know those experts on SC ITK got it almost 100% wrong. Still, something to do for them outside school hours I suppose.

  • Yachtsman says:

Not since I started pulling for Spurs in ’46 have I felt so confident and proud about the lads and their management. Beats me why ‘Arry would even consider leaning towards the England job when he can granite in a reputation for the ages where he is.

    Two different items.

#1 On the facilities agenda. Does anyone live near the new training ground? Or is ITK? What’s going on? Should it not be coming on line before the season is over?

#2 On a striker. A mate of mine has watched Wickham all season. Says he’s the real goods. Would rather have him at Spurs than Fabiano, Benzema, you name ’em. Plus he’s English. Young.

    • Anthony In That Number says:

Agree on young Mr Wickham. Have had some very good reports from family who live in and watch Ipswich. He is going to be some player. Only 17 now but has a real presence about him. Got a hat trick on Tuesday night for Ipswich against Doncaster away but looks a class act . Is already very strong and quick for his age. I am sure he would cost a packet but would be money well spent imo . Must be worth a punt at say £10 million, structured a bit like the Wonder Boy deal with £5million up front the restappearance/performance linked. We did pretty well with the same sort of deal with Wonder Boy Bale, so why not? IMO money better spent than on a 30/31 year old who will have no re-sale value and has no EPL experience (ie Fabiano). Also I like Vucinic at Roma and reckon he is just right for us. Quick, strong, hard working, leads the line well and is a real handful for defenders. Plays for Montenegro and scored for them in the home tie against Wales. Not sure how he would fit in with the Croation contingent what with the politics of the Balkans and all that jazz but anyway….

Hope Charlie is ok, what is the estimated recovery time for Kaboooooom?. Agree on Hutton, he is probably more useful as a wing back, a bit like Johnson at Liverpool, very good pace and good facing front wards but hopeless defending and positional sense almost zero. Do not think we will keep him next season, Walker back to contest RB with Charlie and Kaboooom, Gallas as cover, even Sarge as an emergency I guess.

      • Astromesmo says:

I get to about 4 or 5 Town games a season with a good friend of mine and been seeing him a lot. He’s strong on the ball, has a great first touch and covers every blade of grass during a game – Turning up at left back every now & then!

He also has a tendency to try and do too much – Mainly granted because early season Town were so shocking… It was like he was trying to personally haul them up by the boot-straps, but if he signed he would need some real TLC in the first 3-6 months.

I think he would take a huge price tag very personally and try to earn every penny of it – which is good, but for such a young lad it might be the undoing of him… Especially if he was the sole striker we signed.

I’d say definitely grab him but hopefully alongside a more experienced player who would take the limelight and allow us to introduce him gradually for a few short cameos… Similar to how they’ve done it with Sandro (Who I think has been incredibly well handled by the club).

        • Anthony In That Number says:

Agreed, the idea of slowly introducing young Mr Wickham in the Carling Cup , FA Cup and as a sub for 20 mins or so in the EPL is ideal. Indeed much as the management have done with Sandro.
This provides yet more evidence that we have a management and coaching staff that actually know what they are doing and how to bring players along. This is the first time we have had this quality set up imo, since well the Terry Venables era and before that Keith Burkinshaw ably assisted by Peter Shreeves. It confirms that you need stability, direction and consistency to achieve anything substantial. Just hope DL is already preparing for Harry going to the England job in 2012. Maureen might be the ideal candidate!!!!!!

    • UnkleKev says:

      Speaking of Wickham:

      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1357924/Tottenham-pip-Arsenal-land-15m-rated-Connor-Wickham.html

I’d suggest that Andros Townsend going the other way on a season-long loan deal ought to be enough to clich it for us.

      • Anthony In That Number says:

A very good investment imo. If Townsend and or Obika/Rose go to Ipswich as part of the deal on loan then excellent moves all round. I think that realistically the most likely to succeed from our current young crop would seem to be Walker, Caulker and Kane. Shame that Bostock and Parrett seem to have stagnated but as we know even the most promising sometimes just do not make it. I also thought that Livermore had a good chance but
do not think he will be quite good enough for the EPL.

        • Kluffah Yid says:

Bearing in mind Drogba was considered a donkey when he joined Chelsea at the ripe old age of 25, and then improved to become arguably the world’s most dangerous striker at 30, are we not dismissing talent before it ever got the chance? How much can a player improve between the ages of 21-28 if they are training regularly with some of the best in the world?

So many questions… answers are ‘yes’ & ‘a lot’ :)

    • david says:

I was thinking the other day that it must be a lot more fulfilling being the manager of a top club side than of a national team.
Having said that, HR has made it pretty obvious he would leave us for the England job.
Not sure he will get the offer if the court case goes against him this Summer.

  • Steveo1987 says:

Hutton was last seen turning out for the Sweaties on Feb 9th.

  • Yachtsman says:

HH. Seems the training ground thing is of low priority to others, so I’m calling on you to help. What’s going on?

A new state of the arts facility might change our blinking uneven fitness/injury record.
