Modder’s Appendix Out – 6 Others With Gout

Good morning fight fans, Blackburn away it is then.

I’m not a stat man. But I do like the occasional bet and so like to kid myself I have vague grasp of form. I wish I didn’t. Blackburn have won 4 of their last 6  home games and Spurs by contrast have won only 2 of their last 6 away games.

The most obvious problem is that Arry has more men out than Arthur Scargill. There’s a mental rumour doing the rounds that Modder’s has had his appendix out. On top of Awesome Dawson’s ban; Woodgate, King, Kaboul, Bale, Huddlestone and Palacios all victims to seasonal gout disorder.

The team sheet therefore picks itself and it doesn’t make for very pretty reading.

This is a game where those men left standing could distinguish themselves. They absolutely could. But footballers don’t come much more fragile than Tottenham ones trudging up north on a Wednesday night after a drubbing.

We may as well try to look on the bright side as we have no other choice. We have a very good team and a good squad. A couple of players in the summer and we can really challenge.

Modric probably needed a rest anyway, he’s played a lot of football recently. Hopefully he’ll be back for the Milan game. In the mean time Pienaar or VDV should cover for him.

    My team for tonight:
    Gomes
    Corluka Gallas Bass BAE
    Lennon Palacios Pienaar VDV
    Crouch Defoe

If Gallas and Palacios aren’t available then we’ll have to bring in Woody and Jenas. Crouch to play as without Dawson and Kaboul we lack height. VDV to roam ala Modric last season.

Looking at the table City are the team most likely to drop out of the top 4. The next month will tell us whether we are fighting for top for or a Europa place.

Seems fair enough & we’ll need the height with them pitching it in at all angles and Dr Octo flapping around like a shirt-tail in the breeze.

You’re right about Modders. He tried manfully at the weekend but he made absolutely no headway and looked very tired… Not surprising if this was brewing (My sister in law hospitalised last year with similar & it flattened her).

Agree as well at Pienaar sitting a bit more centrally than VDV. He looked good did Pinot but he just didn’t seem to know where he was playing. I think he needs a clear brief but he’s obviously a talented lad.

I’d almost be tempted to stick Bass in the middle somewhere if Sarn’t Wildon not available. We looked very small and powderpuff in the middle on Sunday & JJ won’t help that much. It doesn’t really hit home until you see them all lined up that they are a tiny bunch… And Fulham are no man-mountains to compare them to.

Agreed. That would be my team of choice apart from the fact that Sarge and Gallas are very doubtful and I would start Pav instead of Crouch. Also take on board the point you make about our lack of height. Blackburn do have height and power (Samba) and are dangerous from set pieces with Pedersen offering good delivery.

Also agree that City are more likely than Cheatski to drop out of the CL places. On the plus side we do have to play City away and with our best 11 we will trouble them for sure. Also City still have some tough fixtures and will drop points.

Still think we need to dig deep and get something from tonight and then win at home on Saturday against Bolton.

A tough spell this but an opportunity for some of our so far underperforming stars to step up….EG
JD needs to rediscover some form, surely he cannot go much longer without a league goal!

Judging by what we have goutless (rather than gutless like Fulham), I reckon this for tonight.

    Gomes
    Begbie Billy G Bassoon BAE
    Azza JJ Peanut VDV
    JD 3MP

    Subs
Cuddlychins, Charlie, Woody, Boingy, Niko, Sandra, Pav

Thats basically all we have left unless Sarge is partially fit, then he’ll be in for Boingy or Sandra

    My team for tonight
    Gomes
    Hutton Woody{Basson} Gallas BAE
    Lennon Wilson VDV Pinot noir
    Pav JD
Bring on 3MP,and Sandro to give some height later, with Bogani held back in case Woody needs to be subbed. Need a clean sheet and at least a point from this one.

Can Luka’s Appendix play up front as Appendix sounds like it should be a Brazilian footballers name.

  • UnkleKev says:

Anyone who doesn’t want to play for us because £80,000 a week isn’t enough can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned.
