That’s the fastest digression ever.
Arguably good news – cheerfully doing the rounds this morning like a happy bin man – is that enquiries are being made for old 3MP. This will be received belligerently by those who have footage of that goal against City kept ion a locket about their necks and it won’t please Arry.
First through the door was apparently Steve Bruce. Apparently there has been little or no communication since the price was revealed. What that figure was I cannot tell you.
Second had been what the press would call the threat of an audatious swoop from none other than QPR. Again I don’t have any figures.
Bruce is obviously sitting on his Barren Dent dosh and the QPR interest reveals that – despite all the mumbles coming out of Loftus Road – they are planning to give it a good go and not just rake in as much as they physically can while they’re here.
As I say, it’s difficult to believe Arry is in a hurry to flog Pete. Yet another good reason to have that splendid Mr Levy running the show.

3MP should NEVER start for us, but if used correctly he has a role. That is holding a 1-goal lead. I’m quite happy to see him come in at 70 minutes and a goal up. It’s weird; He wins everything in the air when we defend and nothing when we attack.
That said, that isn’t enough to keep him around if decent money is tabled.
i dont see anything strange about that. i think the truth of the matter is that defenders have had to think about him and have figured it out, just move him around; hell, as soon as his feet are off the ground you can move him out of the way by blowing on him. the only skill is doing it quickly because he is not in the air for long; has a lousy vertical leap for a big man. when tring to score rather than defend that thought is out of the window from the defenders up there and never occurred to the strikers as they are notusually up against him. he is offensive to watch im my view the way he lopes down the field, and it frankly makes little sense having him trying to get on the end of a lennon or bale cross as he is most often not able to keep up. the acmilan goal was an exception as they had pushed so many up he had the space (and be honest, how many of you thought he had missed it when he first hit it? i know i did).

I think he’s good in Europe but EPL defenders have worked out that all you need to do is back into him once he jumps and the refs will instantly give a free kick. If the money’s good, sayonara but otherwise, keep him for Europe.
One way or another he’s written himself into the THFC history books, good and bad… The Citeh goal against the tongue out look of horror at another chance spawned or the RM sending off. The Citeh goal just about swings it enough for me to give him a nod in the street as opposed to chucking a beer can… But it’s close!
