Spurs Supremo Issues Suicide Threat

I’ve no doubt that Arry takes this job seriously, I just wish he’d engage his brain before sharing his East End homespun witless wisdom with us. “I’m going to go and commit suicide, it’s so sad…”

Nobody likes being patronised yet this clown manages to have a swipe at the good and learned folk that pay his wages virtually every time he gives a postmatch quote.

The shoulder shrugging needs to go. The ‘What can I do?’ needs to go. Stop fannying us about and get rid of those not up to the task and replace them with those that are. What top end managers persevere with under performers? Name an example to me?

He talks to us like he’s the West Ham manager and we’re West Ham fans . Despite this good works, unless he demonstrates some minerals and intent – trust me – this scenario can be swiftly made real.

8 A pretty damn fine performance. A stellar save and very much in the same vein of form as when we bought him. More please, Carlo.

5 Simply too inconsistent for me to be first choice right back, but then his competitor for the place is the rock star Begbie. Too slow, too predictable.

7 Another decent performance apart from the insane challenge that nearly resulted in a penalty and me hitting a high note Freddie Mercury would have been proud of.

7.9 His header off the line was another reason to vote ‘Billy’ in the forthcoming elections. He’s a soldier, he’s a man, he’s a chieftan, he’s a… repeat ’til fade.

6.9 I like this guy  lot. He’s made of the right stuff and wants to move up the pitch every time he’s involved in play.I like that.

8 Much more like it, unfortunately he had no one any good to pass to when he got there. Like Modders he badly needs some quality around him.

9 Wonderous. People use the phrase, ‘He put a shift in’ and Sandro epitomises Bill Nick’s words about coming off the pitch having given it all. Credit to the firm.

9 The absolute manic depressive in me can’t see him staying. I actually think if he went, it would hurt me more than any splitter that came before him.

5.7 Difficult to be critical when you know how much class this guy has, but sometimes he looks like a a tubby burn – out. My fear is that you rest him and you let in Jenas…

5.9 Really enjoy the Sarge and Sandro on the pitch together. He was fighting fires last night. Those Manchester City boys have been going down the gym.

-1 Father, lover, imbecile.

2 Impact sub my bottom.

6 I’ll be honest I don’t know why we bought him. But he was at them last night and credit where it’s due. Not Champions League class and that is where we should be shopping.

More disinformation that a bad line to an outsourced overseas call centre. Arry needs to stop whining and get spending. Crouch is poo. Defoe has become poo. Bring in Scotty Parker, see if I care, but stop mucking about and land two decent strikers.

My thoughts on our first team squad this season (as listed on the official site)

    Keepers

Gomes – Most fans I know, love him and are prepared to put up with the odd mistake, but he’s now made too many. Can’t see him wanting to stay as a back up.
Cudicini – I think his contract is up this summer. Well past his best.
Pletikosa – Not had a real chance, but didn’t look the business in the one game.

    Defenders

Hutton – scored a couple of goals which have probably put a couple of million on his price, but not good enough for top 4 & champions league. Will be catching the bus to mid-table mediocrity, where he belongs.
Bale – Brought to the worlds attention by a handful of stunning performances. The rest of the season has been permeated by flashes of brilliance and periods of inconsistency. Probably been carrying injuries for periods of the season. Hopefully he’ll still be around & fit for next season though.
Kaboul – Useful squad player who is played out of position at RB. He’s a CB ‘Arry. Another suffered from injuries.
Gallas – I was one who approached his signing with real trepidation. Has given his all and thoroughly deserves our respect for that. Glad he’s been given a new 2 year contract. Our signing of the season.
Naughton – Been getting rave reviews for an upper mid-table Championship side. Doesn’t necessarily make him good enough, but must be given a chance at some stage.
Bassong – Never let us down, but just doesn’t seem to be good enough & loses concentration too easily. He’s going on a European tour, probably with a French club.
Dawson – Has formed a pretty good partnership with Gallas after coming back from the injury. Does get occasionally get caught out of position.
Corluka – Despite his perceived lack of pace, has probably been our best RB this season, just. But there’s not been a lot of competition.
King – Another season blighted by injury. Undoubted class but the playing one in three is a joke when he’s “fit” Pay as you play deal coming methinks.
Walker – As Naughton but a mid-table prmier league club. Must start next season.
Assou-Ekotto – One of the most consistent players this season and has won over many of the doubters. Lets hope the injury is not long term & he’s 100% for the start of next season.
Khumalo – Rave reviews for relegated Championship team in about 6 games for them. That tells us nothing.
Woodgate – As Ledley, except that’s one game in three seasons, not one in three games.

    Midfielders

Bentley – Tossed it off. Hope we can get some money for him, from some desperate club.
Huddlestone – Was playing well when struck by injury. A must in a central three with Modders & Sandro next season.
Lennon – Great in patches, anonymous in others. Is there a better, more consistent option out there somewhere?
Jenas – I wish someone else wanted him, even for nothing.
Van Der Vaart – Don’t think he’s ever been 100% fit. Had a long world cup campaign, hardly any pre-season and a last minute move. Undoubted class and we should make sure he has a full break this summer. He’ll probably be gone in the next January window if we aren’t pushing for a CL place next season.
Palacios – Not the player since the tragic event that happened to his brother. Thanks Sarge, for those early days, but time for a parting of the ways I’m afraid.
Modric – Best Spurs player since Gazza in his prime. We need to do everything possible to keep this boy. Luka Modric is God.
Krancjar – Niko, we love you, ‘Arry doesn’t. Will be sunning himself in Italy next season.
O’Hara – Been massive in Wolves fight against relegation. I would love him back next season, but just as a squad player. He won’t be though and will put down roots in the midlands somewhere. Shame as I like his missus.
Rose – Done well at LB in the last two game but an indifferent season out on loan. Give him a chance next season.
Livermore – Not really broken into the Leeds side whilst on loan this year. Probably not good enough then.
Sandro – The other signing of the season. He could become a legend over the next few seasons, if we progress to regular CL football. If not, one of the big boys in Spain could came knocking.
Pienaar – Don’t know why we signed him and has shown very little. But was class at Everton, so lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

Strikers – Is there some claim against the Trade Description Act here?

Pavlyuchenko – Want him to succeed but he’s had his lot now. Lazy, poor first touch & not good in the air. That probably makes him the best of our strikers.
Keane – Hopefully has done enough to send West Ham down, but that means he wont be signing for them. Thanks for the good times PSB, pre-Liverpool, but so long for good this time.
Crouch – I’m honestly lost for words.
Dos Santos – Sobered up in time to catch a plane to Spain for good this time.
Defoe – Out of all of our strikers, he’s the one I’d keep. Not because he’s had a good season, but because he will come back to haunt us if he leaves.

Very astute Fatfish. In places, we have a class midfield. Not sure what’s going on with our defence, especially at away games; can we get a coach? Gomes is gormless…The forwards, in my humble opinion; one out all out….I am fed up to the back teeth of cross court volleys to 3MP…enough already!

    • SpurredoninDublin says:

Yes but apart from that, why don’t you tell us what you really think (LOL)

    • Flapjack says:

A good summary Fatfish, although I’m not sure I agree on O’Hara and Pienaar, have never been impressed by either. And while I agree with the majority that Modric is by far one of our best players – I wouldn’t describe him as god, god wouldn’t have missed last night. Lennon carved out a fantastic chance for him to score and he wasted it. A player of Modric’s quality should chip in with a lot more than 3 or 4 goals a season IMO.
I agree a 100% re VDV, he’s tailed off a bit understandable but and there seems to be a bit of harsh criticism building against him, he’s carried the misfiring strikeforce almost single handedly this season, he’s been quality and deserves more credit.

He was the unfortunate victim if a co ordinated attack at a secret Pakistani hideout about a week or so ago or he is still huffing after yous all took the hand out of him !!!

Two games to go and we will finish 5th or 6th. Got to qtrs of CL. Were we ever in the domestic cups?- I must have missed it.

That’s not bad given our recent history, but seriously it’s poor given the chances we had to kick on and see off both City and Chelsea earlier in the season.

I think Harry talks a lot of sense a lot of the time, but Gallas has put it all into perspective with his comments. It could (should ?) have been better.

I can’t imagine for a moment that Levy is happy. He has been the real focus of our improved expectations and I don’t think the poor performance will have gone unnoticed by him.

If I was Harry I would stay close to the phone during the summer.

Just had a thought: We all know DL is a shrewd cookie. Do you think he has considered the cost of sacking HR, and is now trying to compare this to the cost of bribing a jury?

      • jfdit says:

we always wait till october to sack our managers so ‘arry is safe until then. Joking aside with our current form if we don’t seriously strengthen in the summer I can see little changing in the new season.

my crystal ball prediction – we’ll not win either of our remaining games this season, we won’t strengthen in the summer – more likely to lose some of our more useful players & arry will not be spurs manager by next xmas as he will be either locked up or our poor form carries on into next season & levy fires him.

Same old spurs – always two games away from a crisis

      • dancingbarber says:

you think they need bribing ?

  • melcyid says:

I see that Howard Webb picked up his mbe for services to the mancs
