Promising Developments OnThe Modders Situation

From inside The Lane. Any bearing or resemblence to any persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

The response to the Cheatski tapping up of the Croat Cruyff was as per the Chairman’s message a mix of contempt and fury.

The appointment of Villa Boas has caused an impasse and it is nothing more than ‘hoped’ on our side that Chelsea will not come back with another offer.

A formal complaint in relation to Chelsea’s tactics in this matter will be submitted if the situation deteriorates – ie – the player comes out with any more come and get me pleas.

The plan is not to send out the wrong message and immediately up Modric’s wages. He has quite recently signed a lengthy contract agreeing to terms. However it has been mooted that come next January an increase should be organised based upon commitment then rather than out of fear now.

Scenario. Chavs say the don’t want him any more. Modders is disillusioned still and doesn’t really want to do the business. We have to accept some crap offer from elsewhere next summer.

The risk is there. The more imminent risk, however, is: sell our best player. Don’t properly replace him [he’s irreplaceable, remember?]. Revert to seemingly endless mid-table mediocrity.

Fact is next summer we have to be top 4 and had a bloody good season and look like we can challenge the top 2…otherwise it will be more than just Modders looking to move on!

IMO if we get those big signings we are expecting, i think we should be serious contenders for the league….maybe not win it because that takes experience as well as quality but be there or thereabouts with things looking very positive for the following years.

That is the next step for me. None of this “if we get 2 or 3 in we can challenge for top 4”, If we get the quality we should be aiming higher.

We dropped 15 pts vs Blackpool, WHU and Wigan, so significant improvement does not require major surgery. With a quality CB (or a fit King) and a FWD or 2 we are on par a with all above us.

conflicted about this one – it’s a bit like your missus telling you she’d like to wank your neighbour off, if he stays good but he needs to lay off the sexting with our poxy neighbour regardless of how rich & glamourous they look

have we signed a striker yet – I hear a guy at inter milan who’s shit hot is available????

SSN sources now saying chelscunts preparing an increased offer for Luka

They seem to be getting a lot of ‘source’ led info correct so expect more fireworks

    Hold firm Daniel son

As i see it the ball is in Luka’s court. DL has stated his case in no uncertain terms, i get the impression that it really doesn’t matter what CFC offer anymore, he isn’t dancing. And that, let’s face it is a significant change from our chairman.
If Luka comes back from his hols, eats some humble pie/pleads bad interpreters and suggests he never meant to flirt then he stays. If he pulls a bulgarian on us then the game changes – i still don’t think Levy would sell to Chelsea though. Manure might still hold an interest, as would City. So would a number of the big clubs around Luka helped us beat last season ( 8O ). I can’t see him going for some knock down fee then just because we’ve turned down some from Cheatski.
I’m beginning to think he actually won’t be going anywhere – which is better than i felt last week that’s for sure.

Spot on! I care little for what Modirc has said, didn’t say and what he’s going to say. All i care is that he will be playing for us next season. Levy has said the matter is closed and he wont be sold at any price. Time to move on..

  • mr lite says:

would any of the top 4/5 ever sell us a top player.answer is no, so why should we. we are trying to become an elite top 4 squad,so why do we always weaken our squad to strengthen theres,i must have missed something.they the top 4 have never sold us a star player.if modder wants to go he can ,even though dont get me wrong hes my favourite player ,he can go to france, spain, italy, germany not to a rival in england we must be stupid or greedy or both. we cant keep complaining that we cant reach the top if we keep selling our top players to the top teams, foolish

    • MaddySpurs says:

      Nail. On. Head. Well said.

      • BaconFlavouredSnackHead says:

Hardly, he says we cant reach the top if we keep selling our top players to the top teams, but gives the OK for Modder’s to leave – just so long as it’s to Johnny Foreigner.

    • theotherstu says:

that was my point first time round. If we sell him, let him go to Real or Barca or even Bayern.
But don’t sell him to Cheatski, Citeh or Manure (I don’t need to mention “them” do I because that’s a given)
