From inside The Lane. Any bearing or resemblence to any persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

The response to the Cheatski tapping up of the Croat Cruyff was as per the Chairman’s message a mix of contempt and fury.

The appointment of Villa Boas has caused an impasse and it is nothing more than ‘hoped’ on our side that Chelsea will not come back with another offer.

A formal complaint in relation to Chelsea’s tactics in this matter will be submitted if the situation deteriorates – ie – the player comes out with any more come and get me pleas.

The plan is not to send out the wrong message and immediately up Modric’s wages. He has quite recently signed a lengthy contract agreeing to terms. However it has been mooted that come next January an increase should be organised based upon commitment then rather than out of fear now.

well i think he is a wonderful player and by some distance the most valuable to us last year. but the team, and most importantly the manager better deliver this season. if we do not qualify again then he will go and with the financial fair play rules this is prob the last summer we could get silly money, and we should therefore think hard about selling at 40+ mill. we need a new stadium for long term success. the govt gift of a couple of hundred mill was rejected by many spurs fans (they were happy to give it to the pornographers) and so we cannot afford to “lose” 20 mill by selling him next summer for that much less than we could have had this summer, not if we need to put some money in the new stadium piggy-bank. (whether we can ever afford one that is not heavily subsidised by the govt beats me)

Perhaps Luka’s agent has reminded him that next summer new contracts will be drafted up with the financial rules in mind so teams like Chelsea will need to restrict spending on players and wages and hence contracts will be less as well as fees.

Chelsea have a wage bill of £174m…..thats nearly 90% of revenue (£206m)

Clubs know about these rules, you feel contract negotiations over the last few years haven’t taken this into account? Utter madness.

I got me one of those iThingies the other day, amazing piece of kit. That said, all I do is play ‘Angry Birds’ on it for hours on end.

Adebayor is back on the radar, according to Opensaysme. We have spoken to his people.

Have city actually sold anyone to another premier league club since the money has come in? i’m not sure they have.. And don’t think they would. The only one i can think of is Stephen Ireland, when they got Milner.
Certainly don’t think they’d sell to us unless they got someone going the other way..

This might an idea for ground development at WHL next season? It might help Gomes and the strikers could follow it to find the goal?

    Afternoon….Uncle here.
Can anyone refresh my memory as to who exactly these supposed BIG SIGNINGS are that we have been promised by Father Xmas?
The only Big signing I hear we are likely to attract at the moment (and by big I mean 6ft 5″) is Drogba for Moders + ££££ and here is a man who is well past his peak.

I for one am worried that the moment that Mr Levy says “definitely no” the google translation of such comments actually comes back as “Yes just improve your offer my boy, we have share holders don’t you know”.

Saying that it does appear a bit quiet on the transfer side of life for us at the moment. This is a sure sign that Harry is doing his upmost to arouse suspicion with HMRC and because of this I have hope…not a lot but just enough to keep me from banging my head on the kitchen table in frustration at the Spurs boards financial priorities.

Can we pay off Ledley King now please and find a suitable replacement.
