This is very good and comes courtesy of the very talented Gunnerblog.

As Homer Simpson said, it’s funny because it’s true. Grab an Ovaltine, hit play and watch your cares waltz away…

Quality vid H, someone should do one of Arry & DL :-D

  • toddspur says:

Wilson and 3MP off to Stoke then

I’m surprised Arry is letting old crouchy go; fantastic news if it happens

PSB on his way somehwere too so maybe LLorente or Hulk or Ruiz are coming in

Nows lets keep Luka and all in all it wouldnt be a bad trannie window?

  • Spurfect says:

Old Brucies come out with a bit of tapping up patter saying he’d like Niko, the other day he was talking up Gyan, perhaps a deal might be done there? Surely he’d prefer Crouch or Jenas? Really think Krank is needed more than before now.

    • toddspur says:

agreed on that; I think its up to Krankie; Arry would love him to stay but he wants to play; whether he’d accept cup games as a regular and intermittent appearances in the PL is debatable though

  • Sinkingfeeling says:

We don’t need Hulk. Harry Kane and Coulibaly are doing the job for us in pre season and I hope they get given a chance (although I rather suspect they will both be loaned out to some random league two sides ‘to continue their development’.)

If you don’t cost 20mil then Redschnapps isn’t interested

    • emspurs says:

Kane and Coulibaly are fantastic prospects, but that’s all they are, prospects. Coulibaly is 16 (16!) and Kane didn’t exactly light league 1 (league 1!) up last year.

They might well become spurs greats, but putting the expectation on them to be that now will hurt their development. Meanwhile, we’ll still be complaining on here about the lack of goals.

      • Mr_Spiggott says:

Can’t we at least let them loose in the league cup ?

        Please !

        Surely that can’t hurt.

I’m getting a bit bored with our “development of youth” policies over the years.

O’Hara (where is he now) and Rose. Probably others but I can’t think of any Hoddle types coming through in the last ten years.

Prove me wrong by all means by the point is there.

How old was Rooney when he set Everton alight ? Didn’t do him any harm did it ?*

        [*on the pitch :wassat: ]

        • emspurs says:

By all means let them loose! Who knows, maybe they’ll go crazy and earn a spot in the first team.

I’m getting a bit bored of people saying that Kane, and now Coulibaly, are a replacement for buying a striker, when on evidence they’re not ready.

Almost as bored as I am with us not buying a damned striker! :pinch:

      • seattlespursguy says:

Exactly so. Kane and Coulibaly look like good young players but they are only prospects right now. There is a saying in baseball that prospects are suspects until proven otherwise.

    • Mr_Spiggott says:

      .
I prefer to think of them as “Hurrikane” and “Corblimey”. :-D

    • LosLorenzo says:

Harry “Able” and Souleymane just aren’t ready for PL yet. As has been mentioned, Kane was only OK in League 1 last season. Not saying he can’t be great, he does like to score in all the Spurs XI games.

Coulibaly is a bit more of an unknown, but we can draw a few conclusions. Strikers who have proven that they are better than what we have, and are in their “prime” (25-29yrs) usually cost at least 10m (look at the numbers mooted for Defoe/Crouch/Pav). We paid about 2m for Coulibaly, from what I’ve heard (which of course could be bollox). He is 16. ManU paid over 25m for Rooney, and that was 7 years ago. With today’s loony-tunes transfer prices, I dread to think of what a ready-made quality PL striker aged 16 would go for.

Ergo, Coulibaly is not ready to lead the line for Spurs.

  • emspurs says:

So Stoke’s chairman has as good as come out and said that Levy’s playing hardball on Crouch and Palacios and that he’s had enough.

Dan Dan is amongst the best chairmans in the biz, but he’s prone to slipping into pennywisepoundfoolishness (it’s a real word, you can look it up) and it hurts the club. Without it, we would have had players sold and players bought by now.

    • frontwheel 2 says:

Dan Dan knows what he’s doing,he’ll get a good deal don’t you worry in my humble opinion

    • kojac says:

so it sounds like stoke have made their final offers on wilson and crouch,i wonder what they are, can’t blame stoke wanting to sort it out before the start but DL likes to go to the wire incase he can pick up any deals that have gone wrong

crouch can go but i doubt he wants to and why can’t we off jenas before wilson,we will know whats what with deals when players aren’t in squads

i couldn’t find adebayor for the fantasy footy maybe i’m just missing him and what are unofficial talks

yossi for modric no thanks, drogba and lets chat but otherwise F$#$%^$

    • edspur says:

Just because the Stoke chairman can’t cope with Levy’s negotiations and goes crying to the media Levy should crumble? If he gives in because of that they will all be at it. Levy knows what we need and what we can afford. Would you rather Harry trawling Europe with the club credit card?

      • emspurs says:

Again, I’m an adoring fan of levy’s leadership in the main, but on this one the man has previous.

the opportunity cost of holding out for an extra 1 million for crouch and wilson is that we pay them 6 million in wages, without having any genuine use for them. All the while missing deals for players who could actually help us because we’re waiting to free up slots on the team sheet.
