Hello Honky Tonks.

We done ’em. Eventually. Which is possibly harsh, but true.

The first half was pretty mediocre. I only watched from about 20 odd minutes in but it was all a bit pace-less. Picture two Championship at Wembley for the first time, trying to get to grips with the size of the pitch and the occasion.

Eventually, Adebayor kept his head and slotted his debut goal away. Not long after Defoe scored, leaving Wolves looking pretty fangless.

On Wolves, a mention of Jamie O’Hara. Something happened at some stage between him and Bale. Maybe Bale isn’t even aware of this thing whatever it is, but in young Jamie’s mind it certainly exists.

Brad  6 Some naff kicks out. Must do better

A&E 7 Bit of a love, really

Walker 6.43 Generally good. Needs a bigger brain

Kaboul  5.98 Frequently in a china shop

King  5  Sluggish

Krankie  5.9 Modest contributions

Modric 7.73 Some sublime balls (that’s what she said) but several wasted

Parker 7.72 Good stuff, looked like a Pathe News clip when running

Bale 7.61 To be frank, he needs to start raising his game soon…

Adebayor 8 He brought hope

Defoe 7 Great little goal from the midget (occasional) gem

szólj hozzá: Wol 0-2 Tot

3 points from Utd(a), City(h), and Wolves(a). That’s one more point than we got from the same fixtures last season.

Top 4 is still on. Even more so if we get 3 points next Sunday.

    • Mr_Spiggott says:

and if we lose the next 5 we’ll still have 3 points which is more than 2 points from 8 games

      HURRAH !

I was just thinking the 2-from-8 merchants have gone a bit quiet all of a sudden.

        • Phil McAvity says:

They always go quiet when we win, they just try and infect everyone with their doom and gloom when we lose!!

        • Mr_Spiggott says:

I am not in their number for the record (the 2 from 8 gang) – my post was sarc-arse-tic. :kissing:

They’re probably here already but you’ve forgotten who they are? 8O

3 from 8 it is then. :daumen:

Seriously though, I did say that with Adeboy things would change and predicted a 2-1 win so not bad eh?

Great goal from the midget too.

From BBC’s full time write up:

          FULL-TIME Wolves 0-2 Tottenham
Sam Lyon reports: “The merchants of doom surrounding Tottenham Hotspur can have the night off after a fine win – and plenty of positives, too, for a Wolves side that matched their opponents up until the first goal. Entertaining stuff.”

          The merchants of doom…love it!

          “Entertaining stuff.”

Sam Lyon did not watch the game. At least, not from a Spurs perspective :freu

We are still here, it was only fucking Wolves. The real test was the previous two games when we were shite :-p

What is this with playing Bale on the right ?
Is he more effective there ? NO.
Are we more dangerous when he plays there ? NO.
Are we a better team when he plays there ? NO.
What next, BAE at right back ? It doesn’t work so give it up.

Reckon at CB we need either Gallas or King to play every game, simply because Daws and Kaboul need organising.

Now if we could get Gallas and King playing together at CB …..

    • emspurs says:

last year, when he played on the left, he was a world-beater, but then everybody noticed and he ended up getting marked out of every game. Soooo…..Arry is going to start him out on the left for 70 or so minutes and hope the opposition don’t pay attention. Then…at the last minute…SNEAK ATTACK! They’ll never know what hit ’em. Top, top, top, top tactics. Unplayable really.

    • eastanglianspur says:

Stop knocking trout chops tactics

What a difference a good striker makes!

lets pretend that every team member is 100% fit, what would be the first team? whilst crammed on a flight back from turkey last night i tried to figure it out. all of a sudden it seems a tricky question, in the end i got to this-
    gomes,walker,gallas,king,benny,ratboy,bale,sandro,rafa,krank,ade
    second team- brad,charlie,dawson,kaboom,pienar,lennon,thud,parker,defoe,pav.
iv not used any of the youts, and theres a few that havent been mentioned at all, both teams look strong and premiership standard, give it a try and you’ll end up having to leave out one or two of your favorites.

Pretty much agree HH..Just pretty sure Parker deserves a higher rating than Modders..his tracking back and going forward was really good!
