Arry Preparing Tottingham Exit

Good evening all.

A considered question to those who might feel I’m giving Arry a rough ride. Name me another Premiership manager who so profusely publicly contradicts the decision and the will of his club’s board.

I continually kid myself I’m a balanced chap but striking a balance between Derek Nimmo and Don Logan (bad Ghandi) is a demanding role. And then I get this.

He simply cannot help himself can he? Can we get get a quick word Aitch? Oh for the man’s ability to reply, ‘Velocity’ and keep walking. Alas no. No microphone is safe from the earnest emissions of a man possessed by the need to cover himself.

‘Well I told you we shudda sold ‘im back in June.’

Avergrumble and Twitch indeed. This guy is a good manager. And an excellent crisis manager. And perhaps that’s it in a nutshell. He realizes this and is hell bent on creating a crisis so that he might step in and mop all our fevered brows with his fabulous fire fighting skills. Who knows?

“I could sit here and say Luka was happy, that he was glad he didn’t go to Chelsea and get all that money and that he is much happier here now but I’d be talking rubbish.

“I don’t know how he feels. You’d have to ask him. If he told you the truth, I don’t know what he’d say but he’s here and he’s got to get on and play.

“I’d always been brought up with the belief that if people didn’t want to play for your club, you move them on and bring in someone who does want to play for you and I was of that opinion in the end.

“I thought that if Luka didn’t want to be here, we should take the £40million and all move on but I love him as a player. He is fantastic and now it is all done, I’m delighted he is still here.”

Arry, here’s a tip from (believe it or not someone who thinks you’ve done good works here…

Shut up and remember where you are. You’re dealing with intellectually sharp people not only as fans but also on the THFC board. Not ‘idiots’, some snoring old duffer of a chairman or some on the run Bond villain.

It is extraordinary that you are still peddling this sympathy hug schtick for a contracted employee. Spare all of us this garbled home spun East End rubbish about ‘turned heads’ and get yourself familiar not only with contract law but a process you seem to become spectacularly unfamiliar with of late called, ‘acting like a naffing grown up.’

If it goes wrong here – an outcome by the way none of us seek – do you genuinely believe that this nonsense will somehow act as a safety net? Christ you must be thick.

Get on with managing a great club. A well run club and stop acting the damn goat.

I don’t think Arry is allone in spouting claptrap. Wenger, Ferguson, Dalgleish, Mourino they all do it. And if you think the others don’t have disagreements with their boards you are wrong. They just don’t publicise it.

Ultimately Arry will (and should) be judged on results. He may not be everyone’s skinny latte’ but he’s better than most managers we’ve had.

    • LLL says:

That’s the point though isn’t it? Nobody is suggesting that other managers don’t have disagreements.

As for results – 3 wins since February is a very bad record, one he needs to pick up on starting tomorrow.

      • Onedavemackay says:

Good point but was our shortage of proper strikers last term just Arry’s fault or is Levy also to blame?

        • LLL says:

Hard to say where that one falls really. According to the media, Levy was flashing 35m at every fancy club in Europe last January in the attempt to deliver a striker, whilst Harry was rather more conspicuously trying to woo a certain Monsieur Golden Boules (and he’s on that one again btw!!!)

So I’ll be generous and say that it’s both of their fault – Levy for not landing the striker, Redknapp for being distracted by a dashing middle aged transatlantic dandy. Although if the striking department was solely Harry’s responsibility we would still have ‘2 in 38’ Crouchie lining up for us tomorrow.

But like I say, I’ll go along with the results argument. If we batter Wolves tomorrow he can talk as much bollocks as he likes in the post-match chit chat.

Redknapp turned his back on a deal for Suarez, Levy was ready with the cash but Redknapp pulled the plug giving Liverpool til the end of the window to sign him instead. Levy was ready to buy a striker Redknapp bottled it.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

      If they don’t publicise it
      …how are they like Arry?

I’ll have a double espresso. No sugar, I’m sweet enough :ermm:

Having a bull and a cow behind closed doors is fine. There will be arguments, but, dribbling and waffling away about disagreements to the press and wider public makes no sense. It’s not strategic and it’s not clever!

  • DAVSPURS says:

He reminds me of Cliffs song its so funny why we don’t talk anymore. Levey refuses to speak to Harry who wants to leave for the England job . Levey told the sun talk sport Sky Sport Harry wont be leaving unless the fA Pay 40 Million and let Alan Sugar run the FA/

    • Harry Redknapp says:

      You appear to be drunk

I told you about this Ledley but you just won’t listen

You can drink all you want but don’t fall out of Faces nightclub or post on the fucking internet.

for years i believed cliff was singing “tits and fanny how we dont talk anymore”

  • Onedavemackay says:

Personally I can’t see the bunch of old farts that run the FA appointing Arry as England manager. They don’t like big mouths

  • Highgatespur says:

Best article yet – I just wish he’d shut up !!!! Couldn’t believe what he said today…. JUST SHUT IT Harry!!!

  • Jay says:

Good ol’ ‘Arry had nothing to do with the club or this summers transfer window what so ever, if he did we would have the likes of Bellamy, Cole, Rio F, Neville in, quality signings if done on the cheap or free agreed but all the wrong side of 30, and Crouch wouldn’t have been sold. And it was blatantly obvious on every interview he gave about the Modders saga him and Bond knew what they’d do if down to them but were both pulled into check fairly quickly and retracted their previous statements.

Rumour has it though (From a friend of a friend who’s mate works within the club at a decent level) Levy was apparently running all transfers by Mark Hughes and will be holding the transfer kitty back until January’s window where Mr Hughes will be in place to spend in the region of £60m as he sees fit.

As for ‘Arry the club will dispose of him via the ‘Gross (Not Christian) Misconduct’ route in light of his High Court battle over his taxes (Currently blocked by the now famous Footballer/Celebrity Super Injunction). Also bets on ‘Arry to be the 1st manager for the chop were suspended 3/4 days before the transfer window closed after wind of a ‘Major fallout’ with Levy surfaced, as big money (Probably from the Redknapp family) was lumped on to him.

So if it is true let me be the 1st to say “Thanks ‘Arry and bye”
