Both Goals, Not To Mention Staggeringly Informed Analysis

A pretty damn sound performance.

Wigan were  like a butch ugly woman who became coarser and even more deeply unattractive with a few ales down her. Another red card against generated by another side that simply could not cope in a coherent or indeed honest fashion with the boy Bale.

This was, as has been said at length a big game in terms of Tottingham demonstrating that they had actually made some progress. No, no one like going up there and having to slug it out with part time pipe fitters and doormen moonlighting as Premiership footballers. But sufficiently we did just that.

There were a few hairy moments sure, but that’s show business. It was a job not just ‘done’, but one done with no little panache. Not quite as much panache as per Liverpool, but then Liverpool were in a coma. Stoke were not unconscious, they were wide awake. And whilst they had plenty of drive, they were found in the final analysis to be just a bit too thick.

Player ratings will be fairer when we have all had a chance to catch up courtesy of MOTD, downloaded highlights etc.

3 points and little reason to either Avergrumble or Twitch.

A win is a win but two up early on and then v 10 men I guessed we could have hoped for a killer third goal to remove the anxiety. On the other hand there have been enough times when it would have ended 2-2 so onwards and upwards. Massive game next week.

100% since the departure of 3MP.

    Say no more.

In the Premier league, for any potential nit pickers :daumen:

Just watched his performance in the first half at Stoke and with his defensive headers, blocks and dummies 3MP has stood out as Man Utd’s best defender….I really am starting to love Tony Pulis for kickstarting our season… :daumen:

100% since the return of the King and Ade, Parker don’t forget!

No coincidence there, also with Gallas to come back soon things are defintely on the up.

It occurred to me earlier that in the last couple of weeks Ledders has probably played more matches than he’s had training sessions!!

Yes, and after that debate a fortnight ago, I tried to point out that for sheer presence alone the guy marks 7 before a ball’s kicked. He makes those around him perform better ,he’s so calm it’s untrue and quite simply we can’t do without him right now.

      • Phil McAvity says:

Totally agree, 5 was and still is total pish!! Made for a good debate though!!

I love stoke simply for the fact I no longer have to watch the lsop wearing the chicken badge, best transfer business we’ve done in years 10 million for a player worth 2

      • Essexian76 says:

Yep, listening to it on Tsport, hoping he’ll have his once in a blue moon moment-stll waiting though

      • Essexian76 says:

But you have to laugh sometimes, we amde a profit unbelievably on that useless plank, yet lost 6 on Wilson?, no, me neither!

        • jfdit says:

poor old 3mp, hated the way we played with him in our side but could you see him setting up VDV with a pass like ade did today?

keep a clean sheet next week and I’ve a feeling that adebayor will piss that lot off again big time

        • Essexian76 says:

Think Harry’s got a real problem, either Defoe or Rafa’s gonna be pissed. Personally I think Defoe and Ade are the better spearhead, so this is where he’ll earn his corn right enough

Benny crazy from the drugs? Went mental on Benylin and Solpadeine.
Another 3 precious points duly bagged. Bring on the Gooners!

We conspire to make these games more difficult than they actually should be.2-0 up should have been done & dusted but the lazy spurs turned out for the 2nd half and thought the game was a gimme! Unlucky Wigan I thought, especially as soon as Moses realized that he had walker on toast. But fair dues we ground out the result and could of added more goals.ade didn’t really fancy it after his knock and no Defoe (anyone know why) so all in all a good day. BIOYGC

“no Defoe (anyone know why)” Spending the weekend with Les Ferdinand perhaps.

      • Nicktheyid says:

Just seems strange that after praising Defoe all week that the little fella wasn’t in the squad.

As posted earlier, I now realise your an Arsenal fan, and I’m not falling for it anymore. You got a few us going there, and well done you, really clever, but enough’s enough!

Seriously though I am a fan that always expects the best and if the best is not forth coming I look for the reasons why, unlike you who is driven by sentiment. Out of interest did sentiment ever win anything? :-)

      • Essexian76 says:

Sentiment! Me!, now you are havin’ a graffe!

You missed both the point and sentiment the as per usual Eastanglian.

          I don’t think so Essexian76.

        • Essexian76 says:

Now I know you’re better at English than you let on. By sentiment I obviously meant ‘intention’ in that particular post, which even you should understand is a completely context to sentiment as in ‘sentimental’. In regards to Phil and myself you appear to try and provoke argument, where frankly none exsists, which is quite funny sometimes and pretty tedious on other occasions. Now if you think I’m in the least ‘sentimental’ about Spurs perhaps you should ask your fellow blogger Twnmmmm…whatever, for his view, and I fairly certain for once he’ll disagree, but in all honesty, you’re nitpicking I really couldn’t give a monkeys. Talk footy, I’m cool, talk politics or get personal-No-no!

The only away team to win this week so far, I think that deserves a mention considering our away form last season.
On BAE, he only just made the game today, after a throat injury in the Stoke game, so guys be thankful he played & we pulled through.

On Defoe, I hope he was just ill & not pissed that HR decided to play VDV instead of him, & got left out the 16.
    That’s my guess.

Im kinda hoping Lennon’s back next week to terrorise The Scum.
