Both Goals, Not To Mention Staggeringly Informed Analysis

A pretty damn sound performance.

Wigan were  like a butch ugly woman who became coarser and even more deeply unattractive with a few ales down her. Another red card against generated by another side that simply could not cope in a coherent or indeed honest fashion with the boy Bale.

This was, as has been said at length a big game in terms of Tottingham demonstrating that they had actually made some progress. No, no one like going up there and having to slug it out with part time pipe fitters and doormen moonlighting as Premiership footballers. But sufficiently we did just that.

There were a few hairy moments sure, but that’s show business. It was a job not just ‘done’, but one done with no little panache. Not quite as much panache as per Liverpool, but then Liverpool were in a coma. Stoke were not unconscious, they were wide awake. And whilst they had plenty of drive, they were found in the final analysis to be just a bit too thick.

Player ratings will be fairer when we have all had a chance to catch up courtesy of MOTD, downloaded highlights etc.

3 points and little reason to either Avergrumble or Twitch.

beat the scum next week and we’ll have a 5 point lead over them with a game in hand

time to get the lucky pants ready ;-)

“Im kinda hoping Lennon’s back next week to terrorise The Scum”
I’m not! I’m kind of hoping that trout face has finally realised just how ineffective he is, most of the time…

Hear Hear. Walker is the main man and he can only get better – some great play today.

      • Hartley says:

It doesn’t matter who plays on that right side, Hutton, Charlie, Walker, they all can cross a ball better than Lennon….He should now have to prove that he is good enough to make the 11 with effective substitute performances and then maybe once he is back to his former self give him another chance….

Is Hutton still with us? I think Walker has more pace than Charlie, but I agree about what you say about Lennon. He has a lot to prove now.

        • Hartley says:

No he’s gone to Villa, but when he Charlie and Walker do/did get in the position to cross, they were/are more effective at the moment….

Some of the time….. I would say.

He puts it in good areas, but guys like Crouch & Pav either arent in the right area to score or waste the chance.
I dont think Ade will waste Lennon’s crosses as much.
      But, we will see

Should have been 6-1. Defoe is there to give people options and no Defoe meant little movement up front as Ade became more of a target man. Scott P had the worst of it, Mod drifting inside and certainly not running meant that Parker played between Ledley and the half way line. Sandro in the middle as well meant it juts got bogged down. Keep ball’s OK if there’s end product but there was too little. Wigan were dire. BAE shouldn’t have played and somehow Bale wasn’t giving him much to work with. Bale had a weird game, the Totts had a bit of weird game, mostly untroubled, totally on top, yet subdued with no one willing to run at them (Walker did once in the second half and even he decided to go across the pitch. Three good points but they were there for the taking and no one could do the taking.
