Lachanorizo

Good morning all.

Roll on Sunday and the opportunity to watch a football match. Yes, a point in the bag, good to give the kids a run out and all that but it was horrible viewing and I don’t believe I’ll bother watching any more of this pap.

On a practical note it will be interesting to take a peek at ticket sales for home fixtures for games featuring such weakened teams sheets. I would imagine that Levy & Co will be all over Arry on this and it may be a good juncture to run the tape showing fans fleeing the Lane during the course of the second half of the Hearts match.

I will of course be blasted for suggesting this with such illuminating arguments as ‘we woz 5-0 up’ ‘good to see the kids play’ but I wonder (with the notable exception of clowns such as ‘Proper Fan’ who soon naffed off when reminded that the game was included in his Season Ticket…) how many of the poor bar stewards contemplating reaching into their already recession hit pockets will bother.

Maybe I’m out of touch. Maybe I’m not a true fan. Maybe watching children play chase ball is the future. I have never tried Lachanorizo –  Cabbage with rice – but my guess is it’s a truly dull dish.

Think its worth noting as well as a young side it was a side that was disjointed and ”thrown together’ so the lads did well.

Wouldve liked to have seen Coubalilywhite and Cellebos in the squad to play last night, hopefully they’ll be in there against Stoke on Tuesday.

I gotta say; it’s hard forking out for additional games (at £50 a pop) after paying for the ST, so I won’t be doing it this year.

I’d like us to win the damn thing, but even I don’t see the logic of sending a first team to the other side of Europe to play these jokers when we have Liverpool on Sunday.

Don’t expect anyone of note to go to Russia either. We’ll get enough points at home and in Oirland.

I think Harry did the right thing, and a point from the kids is ok.

I have to say the youngsters did really well, considering that they were playing a full strength side (and a highly professional outfit, with a full stadium of fanatic supporters)- they did us proud. however Pav was a huge disappointment, and I would have love to have seen Coubilay given 20 minutes seeing the poor attempts on goal.
Liverpool is a must win, and IMO harry was right to give the youngsters their chance and rest the main players.I don’t think Levy will allow the same mistakes to made (a la arsenal)in consistently fielding a second string in competitions- I know the Arsenal fans (despite crowing about their “kids”)behind the scenes, wanted to see their star players consistently, and wanted value for their money, and despite all the hype were also consistently grumbling behind the scenes- except of course when they won!
HH can talk tosh all day, but it is an important competition, we have a squad capable of winning it, and that’s where Levy will prioritize.I dont think Levy in in thrall to HH the same way the Arsenal board are to Wenger!, so I cant personally see the youngsters competing all the way.

think you’ll find Coubilay hasn’t been included in the squad therefore can’t play, as he hasn’t been with us two years. might be involved tuesday tho’

Yup you are out of touch and not a little miopic! Personally I enjoyed watching the youngsters and fringe players and it will not put me off going to the home games. You need to be able to see the big picture and not just hanker after immediate gratification. How old RU!!?

I think we’re in people with different tastes. The big picture to me is sitting down and enjoying the game. Watching children tear around, for me, is dull.
