I Was Watching The Game With Lord Sugar

Good evening.

Our former Chairman and No#1 Fan was Tweeting earlier this afternoon. He was like many of us… ‘Watching on a rouge sat channel.’

Mine was a rogue channel but come on – me pointing out a typo is like a …oh look, you know.

So well went the day. For long periods it was bloomin’ ropey. West Brom appeared not to have read the script and didn’t realise that the THFC star is in the ascendant. Well it went but also a very tough gig. Anyone who ‘predicted’ it would be need not register for accreditation with the Royal Academy Of Psychics. What made the difference was our invention.

Adebayor, Manu, Ade… three words I know some still have a tough time embracing. But this is an emotional business and I think he’s a find. A diamond in the rough.

Yes, he ‘fluffed’ chances yet again today but the guy is ticking so many naffin’ boxes I’m struggling to do much more than admire the old girl. His attitude is spot on and his contributions to the cause so far have been superb.

Defoe is fast becoming a guilty pleasure. I loathe so much of his play. There was ‘that’ moment in today’s rouge broadcast where he had The Boy Bale in Clear And Present Danger -ous space. He shot, then looked across and said, ‘Wot me?’ But the goal was brilliant. You can’t fault how good his goal was. It was really good.

If anyone is questioning Harry just look at the Fulham game in the second half. Harry was at Home and Bondy and Joe had us all fucking shaking like Harry and begging for the whistle. We are playing in tunes Lets hang on to what we got we will survive where having a good time where having a ball don’t stop now. Could we end with WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS its got to be I believe. Coys

Just heard the news that Gary Speed has died aged 42, truly a sad day for a decent bloke and great player RIP Gary-football’s loss

    • Hartley says:

Unbelievable……one of the nicest men in football…my thoughts are with his family.

      • essexian76 says:

Couldn’t believe it myself, it was a double take moment as my daughter watched him on football focus yesterday as said how fit he looked, shellshocked, but apparently the police were called at 7 this morning for an ‘incident

  • Harry Hotspur says:

    Speed’s suicide is numbing.

Not because he was a bloody footballer, but because it highlights yet another human being who had not only ‘had enough,’ but was so wretchedly sad he drove himself on to truly end it.

Depression is as tangible as cancer and as real as a broken leg and the sooner those that deride it are educated in this matter the better.

    • TMWNN says:

What terrible thoughts must have been going through his head and for how long before he decided to hang himself? Very sad.

What’s particuary distressing is that Speed was clearly one of the ‘good guys’. Well-respected, honest and talented, someone who genuinely had something of value to contribute to the world.

The fact that he felt he couldn’t take it any more is a very sad testament to the state of the world (as he saw it) right now.

      Genuinely shocked by this news.

You look at someone else’s life and assume how great it all seems. Good looking, popular, personable and hugely talented and the rewards of those talents to show for it. But like Stephen Fry and many others there’s that unseen phantom of depression lurking in the background. It’s difficult to understand, for me anyway but I assume that when one suffers from the condition, it’s not evident to anyone other than the sufferer themselves or those close. As said before, really shocked and more than a little reflective about life this afternoon!

      Spot on H-H.

The amount of ignorance surrounding mental health issues in this country are a disgrace.

      Gary Speed, R.I.P.

    • SpurredoninDublin says:

Yes it really brings it home to you when you hear some spoilt brat saying that because a waiter got an order wrong or a taxi turned up late, how their lives have been ruined.

The facts are that one in ten of us will suffer mental health problems in our lifetime and depression is the most common, and for the ignorant, least understood of all these problems.

    • DAVSPURS says:

Well said Harry and too do it in his own House is even sadder I have just lost a childhood mate he wanted too live so much but his kidneys failed and the hospital failed him . So hearing this make me sad and mad a good man like Gary Speed felt so depressed he left his wife and young boys without a father near a time of giving is even more sad for his boys and Wife.

  • Razspur says:

Totally shocked, Gary was a real pro, have trouble finding the words.
R.I.P Gary Speed. Thanks for the memories mate.
Sincere condolences to Family and Friends and to all who knew and respected him.

the best thing about yesterday is winning away without modric and vdv who are both pretty good don’t you know and create a fair bit,so very pleasing

on the telly on thurs for the ropa dopa,i’d give sandro the full 90 like some said

and what the hell happened to gary speed,i swear i was watching him on the telly yesterday with gary macallister and eveything was normal,i turn on the news and the ticker tape is saying he has topped himself,it all seems a bit strange really,he must have a been a real depressive but not one person has mentioned that who knew him on the news

the twat on bbc news actually blamed it on the current state of football and wanted both games cancelled today because the emotion is too raw, wtf,i hate it when they go overboard
